Itinerary

1. Day 1: Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

   • After early morning breakfast at 7:00 am, we set off for the drive to Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala.

   • Along the way, make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where rhinos are being reintroduced to Uganda. Here you go for a trek to see these fascinating animals. 

   • Have lunch at the sanctuary or further along the way, depending on the time. 

   • Continuing on we expect to reach Pakuba in the evening.

   Relax and have dinner and overnight at Budongo Eco Lodge.

   Transfer duration from Kampala to Ziwa Rhino is 3 hours.

2. Day 2: Budongo Chimpanzee Tracking

   • Have early morning breakfast at 8:00 am, after which we go for the chimpanzee tracking briefing at Kaniyo Padidi. 

   • Start chimpanzee tracking. The evocative pant-hoot calls are characteristic of the forest and will contribute to guiding you to these delightful apes. 

   • Have lunch and in the afternoon, go to the top of the falls to view the thunderous Murchison falls. 

   • Continue for a game drive to see members of the big five as you drive to the lodge. 

   Dinner and overnight at Fort Murchison Lodge.

3. Day 3: Morning and Evening Boat Cruise in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

   • Take an early cup of tea/coffee at 8:00 am and then set off for a game drive in the park. 

   • Have the chance of seeing big cats hunting, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, and more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76. 

   • Continue browsing the drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of birds and mammals. 

   • Enjoy a relaxed lunch and go for a boat cruise on the Nile River. This 2-3 hour boat ride, on the river, to the base of the falls, takes you to where you will see hippos and Nile crocodiles. This spot is a place where you have never seen more hippos yawning or grooming in their natural family pods than anywhere else in Africa! Nile crocodile, elephant and a wide variety of bird species can be seen along the banks. 

   Later in the evening, return for dinner, and your overnight stays at Fort Murchison Lodge.

4. Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Departure

   • Have an early morning breakfast at 7:00 am; go for your final wildlife track as you see Murchison’s wildlife exclusives including Rothchild’s Giraffes and Uganda Kobs. 

   • Later, check-out and then embark on an exciting road trip back to Kampala with lunch en-route arriving late afternoon at your point of drop off. 

   The transfer duration from Murchison Falls (Fort Murchison) to Kampala is 5 hours.
