Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

   • Pick up from the hotel in Arusha and travel to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds.

   • Drive through the seasonal swamps, savannah and Tarangire River in search of zebras, wildebeests, lions, buffaloes, hartebeest, elephants, giraffes, waterbuck and reedbucks.

   Overnight stay at a nearby campsite.

2. Day 2: Tarangire Area – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

   • Drive via the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. 

   • Explore the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, almost 20km wide, approximately 600 m deep.

   • Discover the large variety of wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The various springs found on the caldera floor attract animals such as wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks and more than 500 bird species.

   Overnight stay at a campsite on the crater’s edge.

3. Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

   • Witness the breathtaking orange glow of the sun rising over the Ngorongoro Crater.

   • Travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120 km west of Arusha, home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.

   • Look for monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees with the Tanzanian safari guide.

   Return to Arusha, where the safari ends.
