The itinerary

Day 01

Jinghong to Menghai Market and Bulang Village Trek

8:00 AM: Start by car and travel for 40 minutes from Jinghong to Menghai.
Visit the Menghai morning market and see the ethnic groups of Dai, Bulang, Aini, and Lahu.
Drive to Xiding, where we will have lunch.
Start trekking. Today's journey descends to a river and generally takes 1 and a half hours.
Traverse the jungle, an Aini village, and tea and sugarcane plantations.

Have lunch and dinner, and stay one night in a Bulang village with houses on stilts. This village is a typical Bulang community in Xishuangbanna, with a history going back 1,400 years, including an old monastery. Today includes about 5 hours of trekking.

Day 02

Pagoda Visit and Trek Between Bulang Villages

Start trekking after breakfast.
Visit a pagoda that is around 400 years old.
Descend to a river, which takes 2 and a half hours, then ascend for about an hour to a Bulang village and have lunch there.
Trek for 1 hour to another village for dinner and an overnight stay. Today includes about 4 and a half hours of trekking.

Day 03

Waterfall Walk and Return to Jinghong

Walk down through the jungle after breakfast for about 40 minutes to visit a waterfall, then return to the same village for lunch.
Continue trekking for about 2 and a half hours to Bada. Our car will be ready there to take us back to Jinghong. This day includes about 4 hours of trekking.
