See this mighty African mountain on the popular Machame Route. This beautiful and technical climb crosses the Shira Plateau, breathtaking rainforests, and moorlands, with clear views of the mountain peaks at early dawn. Experience the incomparable natural beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro and aim for Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, on this 8-day trek.
Reach Stella Point in approximately 5 to 6 hours, followed by a further ascent of about 45 minutes to Uhuru Peak.

Day by day
Transfer from your hotel in Moshi to Machame Gate, where you will be introduced to your guide and porters.
Once registration is complete, begin the climb with a picnic lunch through rainforest areas for approximately 4 to 5 hours, arriving at Machame Huts.
Later in the afternoon, walk to a slightly higher altitude for acclimatisation.
Return to Machame Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, begin climbing through the short savannah forest and other vegetation for approximately 4 to 5 hours.
After a picnic lunch en route, arrive at Shira Camp before the afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, take a slow walk through semi-glacier and sandy areas, with a picnic lunch, for 3 to 4 hours.
Arrive at Barranco Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, climb through glaciers, with a picnic lunch, for approximately 4 to 5 hours.
Arrive at Barafu Hut for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, make the final descent to Mweka Gate. There, say goodbye to your guide and porters before connecting to private transfers to Moshi town for an overnight stay at a hotel on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
Transfer to the bus stand, shuttle terminal, or airport.
