Day 03

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. A magical scenic flight takes us to Lukla in the morning.
  • Begin the trek by hiking to the day's first destination, Phakding. Trek for 3-4 hours and stay overnight in Phakding as part of the acclimatization process.
4
Day 04

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar

  • Our day begins by heading toward Sagarmatha National Park and the checkpoint at Monjo, following the Dudh Koshi River and crossing the Edmund Hillary Suspension Bridge. After a steep ascent, the trail eventually takes us into Namche Bazaar, the regional center of the Sherpa area.
5
Day 05

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazar

  • This is a rest day so the body can adjust to the high altitude. Namche is an ideal place for acclimatization, as there are many things to do in the picturesque town, such as visiting Khunde Hospital, the community hospital established through Edmund Hillary's humanitarian work in the area, admiring the views from Everest View Hotel, touring the Sherpa Cultural Museum, or hiking up to Khumjung Valley and its monastery, which displays its famous Yeti scalp.
6
Day 06

Trek from Namche to Tengboche

  • The trail ascends through a series of hills and lush rhododendron forests to Phunki Tenga after leaving Namche Bazaar, passing several small villages and a suspension bridge. The hamlet is well known for its monastery, the biggest in the Khumbu region, and has a long history of hosting climbing expeditions.
7
Day 07

Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche

  • The day begins with a slow descent through more forest.
  • Then we cross another suspension bridge and begin a steady ascent toward Pangboche and Sumare, with Ama Dablam's imposing presence accompanying us the entire way.
  • As we arrive in Dingboche, mani walls and a monastery welcome us, while Lhotse, Island Peak, and other mountains add their magnificent features to the scene.
8
Day 08

Extra Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

  • Another day of required recuperation, with excursions to Chhunkung Ri, Nangar Dzong, or Dolma Ri offering plenty of chances to take in the breathtaking views from each vantage point.
9
Day 09

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche

  • Our bodies are well rested from the previous day and ready for the next leg to Thugla.
  • We pass countless cairns and memorials honouring the innumerable Sherpas and climbers who have lost their lives on Everest's slopes.
  • We continue trekking through the desolate landscape until we reach the Khumbu Glacier at the base of the famous peak. We are awed by the glacier's mysterious beauty and utter disarray here. Our arrival at the mishmash of structures that make up Lobuche's remote outpost marks the end of the day.
10
Day 10

Trek to Gorak Shep and Hike to Everest Base Camp

  • With the much-awaited arrival at Everest Base Camp, one of the most unforgettable experiences in Nepal, our journey reaches its highlight today. The morning is spent crossing the Khumbu Glacier and travelling to Gorak Shep.
  • We stop for a well-earned meal and to enjoy the breathtaking scenery before continuing to our destination. This historic base camp has served as a temporary residence for some of the most illustrious mountaineers. After pausing to take it all in and possibly see the newest expeditions at work, we regretfully turn around and head back to Gorak Shep for the night's rest.
11
Day 11

Hike to Kalapaththar and Descend to Pheriche

  • Even if we cannot summit Everest, Kala Patthar makes the trip even more meaningful by providing unparalleled vistas of the whole Khumbu basin and a sense of achievement from climbing the mountain.
  • After returning for breakfast and collecting our hiking equipment, we restart the trail and begin the steep descent to Pheriche.
12
Day 12

Trek from Pheriche to Namche

  • Although it is a familiar path, the walk back to Namche Bazaar offers a fresh view of the surroundings and a more leisurely approach because of the gradual descent.
13
Day 13

Trek Back from Namche to Lukla

  • On our last day of hiking, we take a leisurely pace down the Dudhi Koshi and across its suspension bridges back to Lukla.
  • After arriving in Lukla, we can finally remove our bags, enjoy a well-deserved shower, and sit back to bask in the glory of reaching the base of Mount Everest.
14
Day 14

  • This is the last day in the mountains as you fly back to Kathmandu after the incredible mountain journey.
