4-Day Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara Safari with Masai Village Visit

Depart Nairobi and head north down the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.

Take a brief stop at the viewpoint for a few camera shots of this amazing natural phenomenon.

Drive to Lake Naivasha, where you may board a boat safari at an extra cost to see hippos and other birds.

Proceed to Nakuru for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Go on a game drive in this park, which is dubbed "the greatest bird spectacle on earth" due to the millions of fuchsia-pink flamingos that flock to feed on the teeming algae of its alkaline waters.

See the black rhino, the white rhino, and several other birds.

Return to Lake Nakuru Lodge or Town Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Depart from Nakuru and drive through the Great Rift Valley, with its dramatic landscape and plains inhabited by the Masai pastoralists, and across the "bread basket" of Kenya covered with acres of wheat and barley.

Stop at Narok town for refuelling, then climb the western wall into Hemingway's country, the "Serengeti Plains".

Reach the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Proceed for an evening game-viewing drive in search of black-maned lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, and other plains game.

Return to Mara Sopa Lodge or Manyatta Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Start the game drive with your guide in this reserve, which borders Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, as only an artificial border separates the two.

Spend the whole day on game drives watching black-maned lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, antelopes, wildebeest, zebras, and Masai giraffes.

Enjoy a picnic lunch beside the Mara River as you watch hippos and, with luck, crocodiles on the riverbanks, then return to the camp at 4 pm.

Visit a nearby Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle.

Relax and spend the rest of the day at leisure, with dinner and an overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge or Manyatta Camp.

Enjoy a morning game drive, and then depart the Masai Mara region after visiting Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary.

Lunch will be taken in Nairobi at your own cost, followed by drop-off at the pick-up point, where the safari ends.
