Dickensian Rochester and Historic Chatham
Pick-up by your guide from your local hotel or nearest train station.
Visit Rochester High Street, a quaint Victorian-era street straight out of a Dickens story, with many shops still keeping their original store-fronts and Dickens' memorabilia at every turn.
Tour the beautiful old Norman Cathedral and Castle.
Visit the Charles Dickens Museum, his house, and see quite a few places you may have read about in his stories.
Alternatively, visit nearby Chatham, home to an excellent Naval Museum, a number of Royal Navy ships, a submarine, and the rope museum, the longest brick-built building in the world. A visit to the Royal Engineers Museum is also highly recommended.
