The itinerary

Day 01

Arusha to Miriakamba Hut

  • Depart from Arusha at about 8:30 am after breakfast and drive to Momella Gate.

  • After making the necessary payments, begin the climb with a picnic lunch en route to the first hut, Miriakamba Hut.

Dinner and overnight at Miriakamba Hut (3 1/2 hrs).

Day 02

Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

  • After breakfast, continue the climb to the second hut, Saddle Hut. This section is steeper than the first part and takes about 2 1/2 hours.

  • During the afternoon, clients can choose to attempt a climb to Little Meru Peak and return (1 hour).

Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut.

Day 03

Midnight Ascent to Mount Meru Summit

  • Wake up at midnight and have a cup of tea before starting the ascent to the main Mount Meru peak.

  • Proceed to the summit across a rocky path, then return to Saddle Hut for a full breakfast. The rest of the day will be spent resting.

Lunch, dinner, and overnight at Saddle Hut.

Day 04

Descend to Momella Gate and Transfer to Arusha

  • Leave Saddle Hut and descend to Momella Gate via the first hut, Miriakamba, where you will be transferred to Arusha/Moshi.
