Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Alexandria

   • Meet your Egyptologist guide at your hotel in Cairo/Giza.

   • In an air-conditioned vehicle, start your tour to Alexandria, the bride of the Mediterranean. The drive is 220 km (147 miles).

   • Visit the highlights of the sites there including, the catacombs: A Roman tomb that dates back to the 1st century. This magnificent tomb shows the mixture between Egyptian and Roman art, symbols and burial customs. It was one of the wonders of the middle ages. 

   • Also, visit the only preserved Roman Amphitheatre in the city. 

   • Enjoy an outside view of the fort of Qaitbay (1477), the original location of the Great Lighthouse of Alexandria on the island of Pharos.

   • Have your lunch during the tour and enjoy the fresh breeze of the sea. 

   • End this visit with the modern library of Alexandria, which is a revival of the ancient library, the biggest library in the world back then. 

   • After this enjoyable tour, go to the hotel for the night.

2. Day 2: El Alamein - Military Museum and Cemeteries

   • Meet the tour guide at the hotel.
   • Take a nice trip to one of the most significant battlefields during the 2nd world war.
   • Drive to the town of El Alamein, west of Alexandria 110 km (68 miles). This spot was a battlefield that witnessed an important part of the 2nd world war. 
   • Visit the military museum, which displays the old weapons, tanks, cannons and bikes of the 2nd WW.
   • Have a full description of the military actions of the leaders who participated in the warlike Rommel and Montgomery. 
   • Carry on to the west of the city and look at the three memorial cemeteries of the commonwealth, the German and the Italian.
   • Take a beautiful view of the blue water of the Mediterranean as you drive by the north coast road.
   • Have lunch enroute. 
   • Drive back to Cairo.
