6-Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari through Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro

• Depart at 08:30 from your hotel and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park. Although small in size, this park is one of the most diverse reserves in the country, set against the dramatic wall of the Great Rift Valley.

• Enjoy a picnic lunch in an area of open grassy plains, hot springs, dense woodlands, and steep mountainsides. Lake Manyara National Park is a birding paradise with more than 350 species of birds, and it is also famed for its unique and elusive tree-climbing lions.

In the evening, drive back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

• Have breakfast early in the morning to allow for an early departure through the Ngorongoro Crater area, with a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge, before continuing to Serengeti National Park.

• Enter Serengeti via Naabi Hill Gate and continue with game drives throughout the afternoon.

• Later, drive to the lodge or tented camp for your overnight stay.

Overnight is at the selected accommodation camp in Serengeti National Park.

• If you wish to see the animals waking up to a new day and the nocturnal predators retiring after a night out on the plains, you can go for an early morning game drive before returning for breakfast.

• The rest of the day is spent game viewing across the endless plains in search of lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, baboons, zebras, topis, impalas, and many more. Serengeti is also home to many species of birds.

Overnight will be at the booked tented camp just outside the park.

• After breakfast, head to the largest unbroken caldera in the world. Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Naabi Hill Gate and, after registration formalities at the Crater Rim, descend to the crater floor for a fun-filled day of game viewing. If you are lucky, you may spot the Big Five on this single day.

• Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World or the Eden of Africa.

• In the afternoon, drive up to the Crater Rim for an overnight stay at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge, with stunning views over the crater floor and one of the best sunsets ever.

• After breakfast at the lodge, visit a Masai Village if you wish. If you fancy some hiking instead, it is time to go for a ranger-guided nature walk in the forests of the Ngorongoro Highlands.

• Drive out of the Conservation Area and back to Arusha town, where your tour ends.

• After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to the airport to connect with your flight back home.
