The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Luang Prabang

Pick up at Luang Prabang Airport and transfer to your hotel.
Stay overnight at the hotel in Luang Prabang.

Day 02

Mount Phousi Sunrise and Kuangsi Waterfall

Wake up at 5:30 AM and climb Mount Phousi to see the sunrise. Come down and visit a local street restaurant for breakfast.

Start a 40-minute drive to Kuangsi waterfall. From there, take a short trek up to the viewpoint of Kuangsi waterfall, where you will have lunch at a local restaurant.
Then drive to a Hmong village on the way back to Luang Prabang and stroll around the night street market.
Stay overnight at the hotel in Luang Prabang.

Day 03

Mekong Boat Ride, Pak Ou Cave and Nong Khiaw Peak

Have breakfast at the hotel and then ride by boat on the Mekong River for 2 hours through local villages while enjoying the garden views along the Mekong bank.

Visit Pak Ou Cave and travel by minivan to Ban Sanghai, a pottery village.
Drive for 4 hours towards Nong Khiaw and then begin a 1.5-hour climb to the peak to see the beautiful mountain view.

Day 04

Scenic Drive from Nong Khiaw

Have an early morning breakfast and leave Nong Khiaw at 7:00 AM for a 10-hour drive through beautiful locations.

We will stop at some famous viewpoints on the way.

Day 05

Plain of Jars, Villages and Muong Khoun

Take the 50-minute drive to Ban Naphia, a spoon village. Continue to Plain of Jars Site 3. There are over 150 jar sites on a scenic hillside in pretty woodland near Ban Lat Khai village. The access road to Lat Khai leads to east Ban Xiang Di (Ban Siang Di). The site is a 10-minute walk through rice fields.

Continue to Jar Site 2. Over 250 jars are located on two hills of Ban Na Kho. Walk towards the top of the hill, which reveals a village, grasslands, and beautiful pine trees.
Visit the Russian tank and Whisky village on the way to Plain of Jars Sites 2 and 3. The Russian tank was destroyed by a bomb during the Vietnam War (1964-1973). The Whisky village was made by a Lao family.
End the day with a visit to Muong Khoun, the old capital city of Xiengkhouang province, Wat Pia Wat, and That Foun (Buddhist Stupa).
