The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Bwindi

  • You will be picked up from Entebbe International Airport.

  • Start your early morning journey towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Drive southwest across the Equator through savannah grasslands, banana plantations, and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long, curving horns. Then ascend into the Kigezi highlands, known as the "Switzerland of Africa," with terraced farming and mountain scenery.

  • Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the evening. Check in at your accommodation and stay overnight.

2
Day 02

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

  • After an early breakfast and a briefing by the ranger guide, enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rainforest is spectacular. The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but it is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails that allow access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savoured.

  • Spot gorillas eating and playing as you trek through the park. Observe other wildlife species inhabiting the forest as well.

Day 03

Boat Ride on Lake Bunyonyi

  • After breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, which is believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa. Lake Bunyonyi is a body of water in southwestern Uganda near the Rwandan border. Its 29 islands, of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water, make it magical, and the view reinvents itself every hour or two with the ever-changing climate and the direction of the sun.

  • In the early morning, observe the islands weaving through cotton candy-like streams of mist, and in the afternoon, see them bathed in the warm glow of the sun. Later, they are silhouetted against a dim sky as evening approaches.

  • Enjoy a calm boat trip through some of the islands on this lake. You can even explore a few of these islands during the boat trip, as per your choice.
