The itinerary

Day 01

Riobamba Transfer and Chimborazo Refuge Preparation

• Depart from Riobamba at 1 pm for the 1.5-hour drive to the refuge. There is a registration process in the National Park before heading to the Carrel Refuge.

• Dinner is served at 5 pm.

• The climb starts between 11 pm and 12 midnight.

Day 02

Summit Ascent at Sunrise and Return to Riobamba

• The uphill trail is about 6-8 hours long.

• Reach the summit at sunrise.

• Climb back down to the refuge for breakfast.

• Drive back to Riobamba.

• Return around midday.
