2-Day Amazon Boat Expedition in Iquitos with Yahua Tribe Visit

Meet your tour representatives at the port town of Bellavista Nanay.

Depart by boat from Nanay port, stopping to see the confluence of the Nanay River and the Amazon River. Continue downriver for 30 minutes, enjoying the beautiful landscapes and looking out for river dolphins.

Arrive at Fundo Pedrito preservation center to see alligators, turtles, and the biggest fish of the Amazon. You will also see the Victoria amazonica plant, the largest water lily in the world.

Continue by boat to reach the rustic-style lodge and have lunch.

After lunch, begin your boat expedition to the Amazon animal rescue center, where you will get to play with macaws, parrots, coatis, sloths, and a wide variety of monkeys. You will also be able to take a close look at the largest boa in the world, the anaconda, and the prehistoric turtle, the Mata Mata.

Stay overnight at the lodge. Later, take a nocturnal hike looking for spiders, snakes, lizards, frogs, and rodents while hearing the different sounds of nocturnal animals.

Get up early to see the sunrise and start your day with a birdwatching activity. This is the best time to see wildlife along the riverbank and inside the jungle. Then go on an ethno-botanical walk through the jungle to learn about the flora of the Amazon.

Meet the members of one of the oldest indigenous groups in the Amazon, the Yahua tribe. Spend time with them and enjoy their songs and dance performances. You may also contribute to their preservation by buying their handmade handicrafts.

Have a self-catering lunch. Then return by boat to Nanay port and take a private transfer to your accommodation or the airport. End of the tour.
