Day 01

Doi Inthanon Waterfalls, Summit and Village Visit

• Pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel at around 08:30 AM.

• On the way up the mountain, visit Wachiratharn Waterfall.

• Continue to Siritharn Waterfall.

• Observe the agricultural accomplishments at the Royal Project research station.

• Visit the Chedis of the King and Queen, where you will find some of the best views across the park.

• Stop for lunch.

• Visit Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand.

• Near the summit, take the Angkha nature walk, where you can walk among the unique flora and forest found at this altitude.

• There are both Karen and Hmong villages within the bounds of Doi Inthanon. See a Karen village on the way down the mountain.

• Return to your hotel in Chiang Mai at 5:00 PM.

• Night-time temperatures on the peak can be as low as -8 degrees centigrade.

• In the cold/dry season, night-time frosts are expected. In fact, on top of the mountain, the climate is closer to that of Canada than that of lowland Thailand.

• Daytime temperatures can be surprisingly cold, so do not forget a long-sleeved jumper.
