The itinerary

Day 01

From Bucharest to Brașov via Sinaia

  • Pick up from the airport and begin your journey into Transylvania.
  • Make your first stop in Sinaia to visit Peleș Castle, built by Carol, the first Romanian king.
  • In the afternoon, arrive in Brașov, check in, and visit the old town and the Black Church, the city's reference point.
  • In the evening, drive to Poiana Brașov, the best-known Romanian mountain resort, and have dinner.

Day 02

Bran Castle, Râșnov Fortress and Fundata

  • Have breakfast and head to the best-known castle in Romania, Bran Castle, associated with Dracula's myth by the author Bram Stoker.
  • Visit Râșnov Fortress and explore Fundata mountain village.

Day 03

From Brașov to Sighișoara through Viscri

  • Stop at the beautiful Saxon village of Viscri and discover its fortified church on the way to Sighișoara. Enjoy a traditional home-cooked lunch in a family restaurant.
  • Arrive in Sighișoara, check in, and explore the citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • In the evening, explore another beautiful Saxon village, Mălâncrav.

Day 04

From Sighișoara to Sibiu via Saxon Heritage

  • Pass through Saxon villages and discover castles and fortified churches in Biertan and Richiș. Around noon, arrive in Sibiu and visit the Large Square and Small Square. Also cross the Bridge of Lies.
  • Head to the Council Tower and enjoy a superb panorama of Sibiu and the mountains.
  • Visit the city's monumental churches: the Catholic Church, Lutheran Church, and Orthodox Cathedral.

Overnight in Sibiu.

Day 05

Corvin Castle, Turda Salt Mine and Alba Iulia

  • Visit Corvin Castle, the biggest Gothic castle in Romania, Turda Salt Mine, and Alba Iulia Citadel, the birthplace of Great Romania.

Astra Museum and Return to Bucharest

  • Have breakfast and visit the Astra Museum, where more than 300 dwellings from the old Romanian village are preserved.
  • Head towards Bucharest.
  • Rest and visit the capital of Romania, with an overnight stay in Bucharest.

Departure from Bucharest

  • Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
