The journey
Scale Mount Kenya, the highest peak in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, on a 6-day trekking tour to Point Lenana. Follow one of the mountain's main climbing routes through impressive Yellow Wood forests, abundant wildlife habitats, and beautiful alpine vistas as you gain altitude. The trek reaches Minto's Hut and Austrian Hut before the summit attempt from the head of Mackinder's Valley via Simba Col. Descend through rain forests and bamboo zones to complete this rewarding mountain adventure.
Ascend to Minto's Hut at 4300 m, situated on a plateau overlooking Lake Michaelson 300 m below.

Dinner and overnight at the gate.
Ascend to Minto's Hut at 4300 m, situated on a plateau overlooking Lake Michaelson 300 m below. There are spectacular views of the summits from here.
The trail continues to Austrian Hut via Tooth Col, which is situated between several rock towers.
Overnight stay at Austrian Hut.
Make an early morning attempt to climb the summit of Point Lenana, which is only about one hour from Austrian Hut.
Descend to Chogoria park gate for the night.
Take an early morning 15 km walk through the rain forests and bamboo zones to our vehicle for transfer to Nairobi.
