8-Day Indonesian Islands Tour with Kelimutu, Wae Rebo and Rinca

• Drive from Maumere to Moni.

• Visit the Wuring Sea Gypsy fishing village, built on poles above sea level.

• Stop at Sikka village to see the famous wooden Portuguese church. Along the way, you can see cocoa, coffee, and pineapple plantations.

• Proceed to the exotic Koka beach to relax and swim, and enjoy delicious grilled fish here.

• Continue to Moni for an overnight stay.

• Hike to Kelimutu volcano at 04:30 AM to witness the magical sunrise above the three coloured crater lakes.

• Stop at Nduaria fruit market to try various tropical fruits.

• See the super green rice fields of Detusoko.

• Visit Penggajawa blue stone beach near Ende, where the pebbles are exclusively turquoise and blue in colour.

• Continue driving to Riung for an overnight stay.

• Take a boat trip to the 17 Islands marine park. Here, you can snorkel in the pristine blue waters and see the stunning coral gardens. Relax on perfect white beaches and enjoy lunch at the beach.

• Return to Riung for an overnight stay.

• Drive to Bajawa, a small town in Flores.

• Stop at Mengeruda Hot Springs in Soa for swimming and relaxation.

• Visit the Bajawa open-air market before returning to your accommodation.

Overnight stay in Bajawa.

• Visit Bena village and see the traditional houses and sacred places.

• Pay a visit to the Arak distillery at Aimere. Arak is the local palm wine.

• Proceed to Ranamese Lake, a 21 m deep crater lake in this mountainous natural reserve.

Overnight stay in Ruteng.

• Drive toward Wae Rebo and stop at the rice fields along the way. These rice fields are shaped like spider webs.

• Continue to Denge village, the last village before trekking uphill to Wae Rebo.

• Trek to Wae Rebo village, have dinner with the locals, and stay overnight in one of the traditional roundhouses.

Duration of the trek: 4 hours.

• Have breakfast and trek back.

• Drive to Labuanbajo, on the westernmost tip of the Island of Flores, for an overnight stay.

• Sail to Rinca island to see the famous giant Komodo dragon.

• Proceed to Kelor island for snorkelling.

• Stop at Angel Island or Bidadari for another round of snorkelling, then return to Labuanbajo.

• Depart for Maumere, or extend the tour by combining it with a 3-day Komodo tour.
