Itinerary

1. Arrive at Paro Airport

   1. Meet the guide and driver who will drive you to the capital city, Thimphu. En-route, stopover and walk for five minutes down the bridge to see the 15th-century handmade iron-chains.

   2. In the evening, witness the flag lowering ceremony at Trashi Chhoe Dzong.
      

   3. Overnight stay.

2. Folk Heritage Museum

   • Today, you will visit Folk Heritage museum, 13 Arts & Craft School, Textile museum and National Handicraft Emporium.

   • After lunch, visit the 55 meter-tall statue of Buddha Doderma, followed by visits to the National Memorial Stupa, Changangkha Lhakhang, Takin Preservation Centre and Zilukha nunnery.

   • Overnight stay.

3. Thimphu – Phobjikha

   • Visit Gangtey Goemba and Crane Information Centre.

   • Overnight stay in Phobjikha.

4. Phobjikha – Bumthang

   • Proceed to Bumthang today.

   • Arrival and check-in at the guest house. Spend the remaining part of the day at leisure.

   • The programme begins at around 7:00 pm with “Jinsi", the burning of the sacred fire and “Mewang”, the fire blessing.

   • Overnight stay at a guest house in Bumthang.

5. Bumthang

   • Enjoy a a day full of festivities in Bumthang.

   • Overnight stay in guest house.

6. Bumthang sightseeing

   • Enjoy sightseeing in Bumthang which includes visits to Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lhakang, Kurjey Lhakang, Mebar Tsho, Wangdicholing Palace, and Chamkhar Lhakang.

   • Take a leisurely stroll in the town and explore the local market.

   • Overnight stay at the guest house in Bumthang.

7. Bumthang – Trongsa

   • Today, you will travel to Trongsa.

   • Upon arrival in Trongsa, check in and freshen up.

   • Now, you will be taken for a visit to the biggest fort of Trongsa Dzong, and Ta Dzong, the watch-tower.

   • Overnight stay in Trongsa.

8. Trongsa – Punakha

   • Today, you will proceed to the next destination - Punakha.

   • As you reach Punakha, visit Happiness Fortress.

   • Overnight stay in Punakha.

9. Punakha – Paro

   • Visit Punakha Dzong in the morning and then start the journey to Paro. En route, visit Institute of Religious and Cultural studies.

   • Upon arrival in Paro, check in to the resort.

   • Overnight stay at the resort in Paro.

10. Paro sightseeing

    • Today in Paro, you will get to enjoy a thorough sightseeing tour. Visit National Museum, Rinpung Dzong, Dungtse Lhakhang, the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang.

    • Overnight stay at the resort in Paro.

11. Off to Tiger's Nest

    • Today, you will hike up to Taktsang monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest.

    • Enjoy scenic views of Paro Valley as you hike up to the monastery.

    • Start the descent in the evening and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the resort in Paro.

12. Departure

    • Check out of the resort and get ready to be transferred to airport for your onward journey back home.
