Debre Libanos Monastery and Blue Nile Gorge

  • Set out early from Addis Ababa, travelling via the Entoto Mountains and the Sululta Plains to Debre Libanos.

  • Visit the monastery in Debre Libanos, built in the 13th century by the Ethiopian saint Abune Teklehaimanot.

  • Stop at a viewpoint down the road from Addis Ababa for a stunning view of the Blue Nile Gorge.

  • Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Nile Gorge.

Muger River Gorge, Durba and Entoto

  • Drive through Ethiopia's famous tef-growing regions.
