Blue Hole Snorkeling and Camel Ride to Ras Abu Galum
Start at 8.00 with a jeep drive to the Blue Hole to experience its legendary snorkeling. Explore the reef slope, rich in hard coral such as Acropora, brain coral, and star coral, along with some soft coral.
Swim among triggerfish, jacks, unicornfish, parrotfish, angelfish, grouper, and more.
Next, climb onto the back of a camel and ride along the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba to Ras Abu Galum, which was awarded National Park status in 1992.
On arrival at North Ras Abu Galum, snorkel among fire coral, raspberry coral, small table coral, porites, and salad coral. Marvel at marine life such as butterflyfish, angelfish, anthias, glassfish, grey eels, and batfish.
Continue to South Ras Abu Galum to swim among rose coral, and, if you are lucky, encounter turtles. Look out too for pufferfish and smaller creatures such as shrimps and nudibranchs.
After a delectable lunch, ride the camel back to the Blue Hole, where the jeep will be waiting to return to Dahab at approximately 17.00.
Alternatively, you can stay overnight for a further day and really take in the scenery and tranquility of this special place.
