Join this 2-day trek to marvel at the scenic views of Mount Rinjani and the picturesque Segara Anak crater lake. Mount Rinjani is an active volcano on the island, and climbing it is one of Lombok Island's main attractions. In addition to the trek, you will also visit Famose waterfalls or Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls, as well as the grassy meadows of the Senaru Crater Rim.

The itinerary

1

Day 01

Arrival in Senaru, Waterfalls Visit, and Trek to the Crater Rim

• Get picked up from the agreed-upon location at 5:30 AM and drive to Senaru.
• Check in to your hotel in Senaru and rest for a while.
• Visit Famose waterfalls or Sendang Gile waterfalls and Tiu Kelep.
• Drive for 2 hours from Senggigi to the main trekking point at Senaru village.
• Complete registration at the Rinjani Trek Centre and meet your mountain guide and porter before starting the trek.
• Enjoy lunch served en route at Montong Satas shelter (1,500 m).
• Walk for another 2 hours to Mondokon Lolak (2,000 m), where you can rest for some time, then continue for another couple of hours through grassy meadows to Plawangan 1 Senaru / Senaru Crater Rim at 2,641 m, arriving at approximately 5 PM.
• Enjoy the views of Lake Segara Anak, the summit of Mount Rinjani, and Crater Gunung Baru Jari (2,351 m), an active volcano.
• Set up tents near the crater rim area, followed by rest and dinner at the campsite.

Day 02

Senaru Crater Rim Sunrise and Descent to Senaru Village

• Marvel at the morning view from the Senaru Crater Rim, followed by breakfast and a descent down the trail back to Senaru village through grasslands and tropical forest areas.
• Enjoy lunch in the nearby tropical rainforest area.
• Walk for about five hours from the Crater Rim area, and the trek will end at the Rinjani Trek Centre in Senaru village.
• Transfer back to your place of accommodation by car.
• Have a farewell drink with our team, followed by a transfer to Senggigi, the airport, or any other tourist attraction on Lombok Island.

Know before you go

• Pick-up is available from the airport, Lembar Harbour, Bangsal Harbour, Teluk Nare, Teluk Kodek, the Senggigi area, Mataram, or Kuta in the south of Lombok Island at 5:30 AM.
• If you arrive early, you can also visit Senaru village by mid-afternoon, around 3:30 PM. Otherwise, the visit will be limited to the waterfalls.
• The luggage you bring with you can be kept at our office during the trek. Bring only what you need on the mountain, including some cash for tips for the guide and porter. This gentle trek is suitable for beginners or families with children (minimum 10 years old).
• The items you bring on the trek need to be packed in a small backpack weighing no more than 4 or 5 kg.
