Puerto Montt, Lake District and Petrohué Falls

  • Begin the tour in Puerto Montt, the capital of the Lakes District and a good starting point, as many cruises stop in this port city.

  • Proceed into the wild beauty of Chile's Lake District, passing through Puerto Varas - a charming city of roses - and viewing Lake Llanquihue, South America's second-largest lake, along with the impressive snow-capped Osorno Volcano, if the weather permits.

  • Continue along the eastern shore of the lake and pass the village of Ensenada to arrive at Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, known for its celestial lakes and volcanoes.

  • Take a walk along the Petrohué River with your Chilean guide and view the falls cascading over hard volcanic rocks.

  • Take photos of the icy-cold, crystal-clear waters of Petrohué Falls, which turn a fierce green colour.

  • Witness a breathtaking view of Osorno Volcano in the middle of the exuberant rainforest.
