Itinerary
-
Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport to Lake Manyara National Park
- Arrive at Kilimanjaro/Arusha airport and drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
- If the time allows, visit Mto Wa Mbu, where you will spend an hour or two wandering around this busy town. You’ll learn more about the life of the Maasai and the 100 or so other cultural groups living in this area (some in traditional huts).
Dinner and overnight stay at Endabash Public Campsite.
-
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park Full Day
- Before breakfast, plan a game drive in the quiet early morning park, and with a little bit of luck, you will experience a beautiful sunrise over the lake with several flamingoes. Then, it’s time to relax after breakfast.
- After the mid-day heat, go for another game drive on a different route. Most animals are making their way down to the river for a much-needed drink, and at this time of day, you could spot the tree-climbing lions!
Dinner and overnight stay at Endabash Public Camp Site.
-
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
- After an early breakfast, take your lunch boxes and leave for Serengeti National Park. You will go via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
- Today is also an adventurous safari day as a large part of this route is straight across the centre of the Serengeti National Park, the area of the Seronera River.
Dinner and overnight stay at Seronera Public Camp Site.
-
Day 4: Serengeti National Park full day
- Drive along the shores of the Seronera River and Mara River, trying to find unforgettable moments and a glimpse of the way wild animals live and survive. You can see a herd of Wildebeests crossing the river, a hunting cheetah, lion, or other predators. Keep an eye out for Nile Crocodiles (sometimes more than 6 meters long), waiting for animals to come drinking or crossing, and ambush them. Enjoy the unknown areas to the greater public and perfect for an experience off the beaten path. Today, your route follows the presence and migration of the animals on the plains.
Dinner and overnight stay at Seronera Public Campsite.
-
Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- Depart early morning and begin an unforgettable morning drive in the Serengeti. At sunrise, while the bush is awakening and still peaceful, the carnivores are out in hunting mode, and we are on their trail to be observers of another natural spectacle once again.
- At midday, return to the campsite and enjoy brunch
- Visit a Masai Village, where you will experience how semi-nomadic communities continue to live according to their age-old traditions.
- Head to Ngorongoro.
Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Simba Public Campsite.
-
Day 6: Tarangire National Park
- After breakfast, depart for a game drive in the famous Ngorongoro Crater.
- Wind your way down into the caldera, with the most breathtaking views along the way. Armed with your guide’s years of experience and his ‘eagle-eyes, you might even encounter a rhino. The chance of seeing an active pride of lions at close quarters is high on the list of possibilities.
- At the Hippo Pool, enjoy all the sights and sounds of the ‘laughing’ hippos, enjoying a wallow in the cool water.
- Head back for a hot lunch at the campsite, after which you depart for Tarangire National Park.
Dinner and overnight stay at Tarangire Public Campsite.
-
Day 7: Tarangire National Park Full Day
- Drive into the park, observe elephants, sometimes close to the campsite near the (dry bedding) river.
- Drive to Larmaku Swamp, a large swamp where you can find elephants and other animals cooling down in the water and sheltering from the sun in the shadow of the acacia trees.
- Regarding encountering wildlife, one can not guarantee anything, but the chance that you will see large herds of elephants in this park is 99.9%. Tarangire is one of the few areas where you can see oryx. You may also be lucky enough to spot a giant tree-climbing python in the acacia woodlands.
Dinner and overnight stay at Tarangire Public Camp Site.
-
Day 8: Departure
- Head for an early morning game drive before breakfast.
- Depending on your itinerary, drive to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your return flight home.
