Beijing Zoo, Beihai Park, and Wangfujing Street
Pick up by your Beijing tour guide from your hotel at about 8:00 am, or at any other time you prefer.
Head to Beijing Zoo, which mainly exhibits China's wild and rare animals.
See the giant pandas, one of the most popular exhibits. Other exhibits include the Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey, Manchurian tigers, yaks from Tibet, kangaroos from Australia, and zebras from Africa.
Explore Beihai Park, an imperial garden built in the 10th century and one of the largest Chinese gardens, containing numerous historically important structures, palaces, and temples.
Proceed to Wangfujing Street, one of Beijing's first major shopping streets.
Find a row of unusual food stalls there, where sheep's penis, offal soup, deep-fried crickets, centipedes, and lizards are available to eat on a stick.
End the tour by trying more widely recognised options such as dumplings, spring rolls, and candy fruit.
