The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Arrive at the airport and meet the guide. Afterwards, proceed to your hotel for check-in and refreshments.

  • Later in the evening, attend a short briefing about the trip ahead.

Day 02

Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

  • After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of the valley's major historical, cultural, and spiritual attractions, including World Heritage Sites.

  • Visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous "Monkey Temple" (Swayambunath), and the Buddhist shrine of Bouddha Nath.

  • Attend a short trip discussion with the mountain guide.

Day 03

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • After breakfast, take a flight and land on the steep mountain runway in the village of Lukla.

  • Head up through the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail to Phakding.

Day 04

Trek to Namche Bazar

  • Catch spectacular views of Mt. Thamserku as you trek through the settlements of Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo before arriving at Sagarmatha National Park.

  • Climb through forests and across bridges to reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers at the base of Mt. Everest.

  • Continue hiking to Namche Bazar, the gateway to Mt. Everest.

Day 05

Trek to Thame Gompa

  • After a hearty breakfast, move past Kongde Ri, Khumbi Yul La, and Kusum Kanguru.

  • Descend to the Bhote Kosi to reach Thame. Admire the views of Teng Kangpoche and Kwangde.

Day 06

Trek to Khumjung

  • Trek down the Bhote Kosi Valley towards Namche and follow a quiet trail to Khumjung, a picturesque village.

  • Visit the Hillary School and head to the famous airstrip at Syangboche.

Day 07

Trek to Phortse

  • Hike to Phortse and enjoy mesmerizing views of Phortse, Cholatse, Taboche, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtanga, among others.

Day 08

Trek to Pangboche and Visit Pangboche Gompa

  • After a hearty breakfast, begin with a short climb to reach Pangboche.

  • Visit Pangboche Gompa to see the foot impression of the legendary Lama Sangwa Dorje.

Day 09

Trek to Tengboche

  • Hike down to join the Everest Base Camp main trail to Tengboche. Take in views of beautiful rhododendron bushes, pretty birds, and superb mountain scenery.

Trek to Namche

  • After a hearty breakfast, head down through the hillsides to reach Namche.

  • Cover the trail to the Dudh Koshi gorge before arriving at Sansa, the major trail junction of this region.

Trek to Lukla

  • Trek downhill to Lukla. Taste chang, the local beer of the mountains, dance to Sherpa music, and reflect on a memorable trekking experience.

Day 12

Fly Back to Kathmandu

  • Board an early morning flight to Kathmandu.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13

Departure or Tour Extension

  • Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home. You can also extend your stay to trek to other areas of Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Darjeeling, or Sikkim.
