Day 01

Fijian Village Experience, Magic Waterfall and Bamboo Rafting

  • Get escorted by a Fijian warrior to the village meeting house (Bure). Experience age-old customs and traditions, including a customary welcome yaqona (kava) ceremony performed for you. This sacred ceremony is only performed for visiting high chiefs or very important visitors.

  • Learn about the history of the village, established by lone Englishman John Humphrey Danford in the early 1800s.

  • Witness war dance performances by the young men of the village.

  • See native root crops, fruits, vegetables, herbal medicine, and kava plants.

  • Join in 'taralala & tuboto' (Snake Dance).

  • Go for village handicraft souvenir shopping.

  • Witness the unearthing of your lovo lunch, cooked underground.

  • Watch a woman plaiting Fijian mats.

  • Visit the village pre-school Kindi.

  • See woman folk dances.

Magic Waterfall:

Bamboo Rafting:

  • Enjoy a leisurely ride on the unsinkable 'HMS BILIBILI', also known as the HMS No Come Back. Explore the only way used by their ancestors before roads or motors were introduced.

  • Experience a reenactment of the centuries-old only means of transport downriver. This is a smooth, thrilling ride with no motors used. Go with the flow on a ride of at least 30 minutes.
