The journey
This 3-day safari to the Karoo is ideal for a group of 4-6 men who want to experience the desert and the human bonding of a hunt. Travel from Cape Town via Wellington, Bain's Distillery, Bain's Kloof Pass, and Worcester to the hunting reserve near Touwsrivier. Spend your time barbequing, drinking, and sharing stories in the company of an Angolan War Veteran, with stunning stargazing thanks to the lack of city glare.

Day by day
Depart Cape Town for Wellington and the renowned Bain's Whiskey Distillery.
After a few drinks there, continue to the stunning Bain's Kloof Pass and then on to the wineries in the Worcester district.
Enter the Karoo Desert Plateau via Hex River Pass and proceed along a gravel road and dirt track to the lodge.
Enjoy a drink and a barbeque, and discuss the next day's events.
Guests are taught basic marksmanship using heavy bore hunting rifles. Guests are also welcome to bring their own rifles and handguns.
Drive around the 4000-hectare hunting reserve, with the optional bagging of a springbok or other antelope.
Visit some Bushman paintings and generally have a good time. There are TVs and satellite TV, so if you need to watch a Springbok match, that may be possible.
The lodge is equipped with a slaughter room to process the meat of the game shot.
The evening is again spent in front of the fire.
On the third day, you have the option of another drive and an optional hunt in the morning.
Depart the venue after lunch for the return journey via Du Toitskloof Pass.

We only offer single-sex groups. The only exception is family groups. Special rates apply.
The food consists mostly of meat and barbeque, so do not expect light meals or formal service. If you are halaal, we will bring prepared halaal food at your expense.
There is no room service, so do not expect your bed to be made.
There is no mobile phone coverage. There is, however, Wi-Fi, so you can use WhatsApp or email.
You are welcome to bring your own hunting arms, mountain bikes, scrambler bikes, etc. Let us know in advance, and we will hitch a trailer for the extra load.
There is no discount for self-drive. You are, however, welcome to bring your SUV.
