Old Jerusalem from Jaffa Gate to the Holy Sepulchre
Start at Jaffa Gate and, after taking a look at the new city, walk toward Zion Gate and Mount Zion, where we visit David's Tomb and the Room of the Last Supper.
Continue to the Jewish Quarter and the Roman Cardo. Upon request, we can also visit the nearby Hurva Synagogue and hear its fascinating history. There, we can enjoy a nice rooftop view over the Jewish Quarter. Then walk to the Broad Wall, a remnant of Hezekiah's wall built 2,700 years ago in defence against the Assyrians.
Stop in the Jewish Quarter to eat or have coffee.
The next stop is the Western Wall, the retaining wall of the Temple Mount built by Herod more than 2,000 years ago.
Upon request and subject to availability, we can ascend to the Temple Mount (limited visiting hours) to see the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock from up close. Entry for non-Muslims is strictly forbidden.
Visit the Muslim Quarter to see some of the magnificent Mamluk architecture and enter the Souq (market).
Follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
