Ubud Culture, Kintamani Volcano, and Rice Terrace Views
- Arrive in Ubud and meet your local tour guide.
- Experience the Barong and Kris Dance, one of the island's most iconic dance-dramas. The story is about Barong, the king of the spirits and leader of the good, and his enemy Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guardians. Traditionally, the dance represents the eternal battle between good and evil.
- Visit Celuk Village, situated in the southern part of Ubud and famous for its gold and silver handicrafts, including various types of rings, necklaces, earrings, hairpins, brooches, and more. The crafts here are made by locals and exported abroad. They create the jewellery using local and unique resources; for example, they use a local fruit called 'filing-filing' as glue.
- Travel to Mas Village, a village in Ubud known for its unique art and wooden carvings. The village is filled with master carvers who use high-quality woods for their art, including sandalwood, ebony wood, crocodile wood, and others. Their wood carvings depict Balinese stories, culture, and daily life.
- Next, visit Tirta Empul Temple, a Hindu Balinese water temple on the way to Kintamani Volcano, famous for its holy spring water, where locals go for ritual purification.
- Explore Kintamani Volcano, one of Indonesia's active volcanoes, from up close, and then enjoy the view of Lake Batur.
- Visit a coffee plantation on your way back to Ubud. Balinese coffee is famous around the world for its special flavour and aroma, which comes from adding local spices.
- Travel to the Tegalalang Rice Terrace Scenic, a beautifully terraced hillside offering rice paddies amid lush greenery. You can also try fun activities here, such as zip-lining and riding the jungle swings.
