Day by day
Arrive in Kathmandu (1345 m) and transfer to the hotel.
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu.
Visit all the popular sites in the city.
Begin the Everest Base Camp trek with a flight into the airstrip of Lukla (2804 m).
Trek for 3 hours to Phakding, a small town located by the river (2610 m).
Hike to Namche Bazaar (3441 m), a small town nestled on a hillside with major mountains all around and the trading hub of the region, through Everest National Park.
The day is mainly for acclimatization, but if you wish, you can explore the surrounding area.
Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 m), a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Sherpa community. Situated at 3,867 metres, the monastery is the largest gompa in the Khumbu region of Nepal.
Head to Dingboche (4350 m), a Sherpa village in the Khumbu region of northeastern Nepal in the Chukhung Valley.
The day is mainly for acclimatization, but if you wish, you can explore the surrounding area.
Proceed to Lobuche (4910 m), a small settlement near Mount Everest in the Khumbu region of Nepal.
Trek to South Everest Base Camp (5365 m).
Return to Gorak Shep (5180 m), a small settlement that sits on the edge of a frozen lakebed covered with sand in Nepal with the same name.
Optional hike to Kala Patthar (5545 m) to see the sunrise and panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, including Everest.
Trek down to Pheriche (4200 m).
Go to Phortse (3900 m), a farming village located in the Khumbu Valley in Nepal. It is off the main trekking circuit and therefore more closely resembles an authentic Sherpa village.
Trek back to Namche Bazaar (3441 m).
Travel to Phakding (2610 m), a small village in the Khumbu region of Nepal and one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Trek to Lukla (2804 m), a small town in the Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality of the Solukhumbu District in Province No. 1 of northeastern Nepal.
Fly back to Kathmandu in the morning and transfer to the hotel.
Extra day in Kathmandu as a backup in case of weather delays to the flight from Lukla.
Transfer to the airport for your journey back home.
