Greater Moremi, Khwai River, Okavango Delta and Chobe Enclave Safari

Day 1-3 Greater Moremi

On arrival at Maun International Airport, you will be met and transferred by helicopter to Hideaways Mankwe Tented Retreat, where you will stay for the next three nights.

Located in a private concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve, the retreat is surrounded by mopane woodland and offers a peaceful setting close to key wildlife areas. Elevated walkways connect the main lodge areas, which include lounge spaces, pools, and an open deck overlooking a waterhole that regularly attracts wildlife.

During your stay, you will enjoy guided game drives into Moremi and the surrounding concession areas. This region is known for strong predator activity, with lions, leopards, hyenas, and wild dogs often sighted alongside elephants, giraffes, and large herds of buffalo.

Between activities, relax at the lodge or enjoy quiet moments overlooking the waterhole before gathering around the fire in the evening.

Day 4-6 Khwai River

After breakfast, you will travel by road to Mogotlho Safari Lodge, situated along the banks of the Khwai River between Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park.

Raised tented suites offer uninterrupted views across the river, where hippos are frequently heard and elephants regularly cross nearby. The lodge provides a comfortable base from which to explore the wildlife-rich Khwai region.

Guided game drives in the Khwai concession reveal a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lion prides, leopards, and numerous antelope species. The region is also one of Botswana's most reliable areas for sightings of African wild dogs.

Meals are often enjoyed outdoors, and evenings are spent relaxing around the fire while listening to the sounds of the surrounding wilderness.

Day 7-9 Okavango Delta

Following breakfast, you will transfer to Khwai Airstrip and fly into the heart of the Okavango Delta, where you will spend the next three nights at Delta Camp.

Located on the southwestern edge of Chief's Island, the camp overlooks seasonal floodplains and palm islands that form part of one of Africa's most unique ecosystems.

During your stay, activities include mokoro excursions and guided bush walks, allowing you to explore the delta at a slower pace. Without the noise of vehicles, these experiences offer an intimate way to discover the region's birdlife, smaller wildlife, and intricate delta landscapes.

Your guide will tailor activities depending on water levels and wildlife movements to ensure the best possible experience in the delta.

Day 11-12 Chobe Enclave

After breakfast, you will fly to Kasane, where you will enjoy a Chobe River cruise before continuing to Hideaways Camp Kuzuma for your final two nights.

The camp is located within a private concession in the Kazuma Forest Reserve, a remote wilderness area between Chobe National Park and Hwange National Park. The lodge overlooks a central waterhole that regularly attracts elephants, giraffes, roan antelope, and other plains game.

Game drives explore this less-visited region, where large herds of elephants and buffalo move between Botswana and Zimbabwe. The private concession allows for flexible safari activities and excellent wildlife viewing away from busy areas.

Relax on the lodge deck overlooking the waterhole or enjoy sundowners as wildlife gathers at dusk.

Day 12 Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kasane International Airport in time for your onward journey.

Know before you go

Credit Cards

Credit cards such as Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted in most areas, as well as at bigger hotels and lodges.

Hospitals and Pharmacies

The larger towns in Southern Africa have pharmacies and hospitals, but you should always make sure you have enough of your medicine in case the pharmacies or hospitals do not stock it.

Telephone

In most areas, you can call internationally. However, please note that some of the smaller areas may not have these facilities, and international phone calls are costly. Built-up areas and towns do have cell phone reception.

Passports, Documents and Valuables

Please make sure that you keep your passport, documents, and any other valuables with you at all times. We recommend making copies of these documents and keeping them in another safe place in case something happens to the originals. Never leave valuables unattended, and remember you are on safari, so expensive and valuable jewellery is not necessary.
