7-Day Cape Town and Greater Kruger Experience

Day 1: Cape Town

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to your hotel. You have the remainder of the day at leisure to acclimatize and relax at the hotel facilities.

Day 2: Cape Town

This morning, you will be collected and taken on an orientation tour of the city. You will see the Company Gardens, Greenmarket Square, the SA Museum, and Bo-Kaap. The afternoon can be spent at leisure. We suggest a visit to the V&A Waterfront, situated in the heart of Cape Town's working harbour, offering an abundance of indoor shopping and entertainment.

Day 3: Cape Town

The day is spent exploring the Cape Peninsula and visiting Hout Bay on the Atlantic coast before heading off to Cape Point for lunch. In the afternoon, we head back via the Boulders Beach penguin colony.

Day 4: Cape Town to Greater Kruger

In the morning, you will be transferred to Cape Town International Airport. Flight CPT/JNB is not included in the costing. From OR Tambo Airport, you will be transferred to Hoedspruit, where you will be met and transferred to your lodge situated in the Greater Kruger National Park area. Settle in to your accommodation and spend the afternoon at leisure before embarking on a sunset game drive in the private concession, followed by dinner.

Days 5 and 6: Game Activities in Greater Kruger

The next two days will be spent exploring the world-renowned Greater Kruger wildlife area, with its diversity of life forms, in search of Africa's Big Five. Keep those cameras ready on game drives in open safari vehicles and/or bush walks and cultural excursions. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to grow your conservation footprint by planting an indigenous or fruit tree in the local community. A complimentary T-shirt is given with every tree donated, and you leave knowing you played your part in planting the seed of conscious travel.

Day 7: Greater Kruger National Park to Johannesburg

What's Included

Transport: Airport transfers are usually conducted in sedan vehicles or minibuses. The game drives will take place in open 4x4 vehicles.

Travelling times and distances: All travelling times are affected by road conditions, border crossings, detours, and weather conditions. Therefore, on certain days, travelling times may be longer than anticipated, especially where there is a lot of distance to be covered. Please keep in mind that the time it takes to travel 100 km in your home country is not equivalent to the time it takes to travel 100 km on African roads, so we encourage you to sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery Africa has to offer. Where possible, additional stops will be made to ensure your travelling comfort at all times.

Meals: Meals included in your safari will be taken in the restaurants at the various accommodation establishments. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements in advance.

What to bring

  • Bring breathable, neutral-colored clothing, a warm fleece for early morning game drives, sturdy walking shoes, a good wide-brimmed hat, and essential safari gear like binoculars and insect repellent.

  • Breathable layers: pack cotton or linen long-sleeve shirts and trousers (great for both sun and mosquito protection).
  • Footwear: comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes (sturdy trainers are perfect-heavy hiking boots usually aren't needed) and a pair of flip-flops or sandals for camp or poolside.
  • Binoculars: essential for spotting distant wildlife.
  • Camera & accessories: bring a good zoom lens, extra memory cards, and spare batteries.
  • Waterproof pouch: a great safeguard for cameras or phones, especially when traveling to destinations with heavy spray.
