Day 01

Maun Arrival, Moremi, Chobe, Hwange and Victoria Falls Journey

Day 1: Maun, Botswana

On arrival at Maun Airport, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. The name Maun is derived from the San word "maung", which means "the place of short reeds". The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure, either relaxing next to the pool at the lodge or, if you are keen for some excitement, booking a sunset cruise on the Thamalakane River.

Day 2 and 3: Greater Moremi, Botswana

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Mogotlho Safari Lodge, situated on the banks of the Khwai River. During your time in the Moremi area, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a full-day mokoro trip and guided game drives.

Day 4 and 5: Greater Moremi to Greater Chobe, Botswana

In the morning, you will take a flight to Kasane. Once you have arrived, you will enjoy an appetizing lunch while sailing along the Chobe River on an afternoon boat cruise. Thereafter, you will be transferred to your lodge. The following day, we will have plenty of time to explore the wilderness on a morning game drive while taking full advantage of the cool weather and optimal animal activity. The rest of the day is at your own leisure, where you can relax by the poolside and soak up some sun.

Day 6 and 7: Greater Chobe, Botswana to Northern Hwange, Zimbabwe

Today we leave Botswana and cross the border into Zimbabwe. You will enjoy a scenic game drive to your lodge in Hwange National Park. Upon arrival, settle in and take in the surroundings. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore at your own pace. The following day, we head out on a full-day game drive through the untamed wilderness of Hwange National Park, enjoying a wholesome lunch while taking in the beautiful fauna and flora of the park. As Zimbabwe's largest national park, Hwange is renowned for its incredible elephant population - one of the largest in Africa - as well as its diverse ecosystems that attract an exceptional concentration of wildlife. From large herds of buffalo and zebra to predators such as lion, leopard, and wild dog, every drive offers a chance for remarkable sightings.

Continuing our trip, we drive to Victoria Falls, where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. The following morning begins with an immersive and theatrical retelling of the history behind the famous Victoria Falls Bridge as you make your way across this remarkable landmark. Later in the afternoon, unwind on a sunset cruise along the mighty Zambezi River, before returning to savor a delicious three-course potjie dinner experience.

What's Included

Accommodation: We make use of upper mid-range typical African standard lodge accommodation. Accommodation is situated either in national parks, on the banks of a river, or in other places of interest. The accommodation will be a mix of lodges, chalets, and tented camps with en-suite bathrooms. Some properties are equipped with swimming pools, restaurants, and/or bar areas.

Meals: Where included, most breakfasts and dinners will be enjoyed in the restaurants of the various accommodation establishments. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements in advance.

What's Not Included

Visas: The onus is on the client to organize all visas required to visit Botswana and Zimbabwe prior to departure. Please note that travellers entering Botswana will be required to present a valid international health certificate of vaccination for yellow fever should they originate from, or have travelled through, countries that have been declared yellow fever infected areas within the preceding 6 months.

What to bring

Travel insurance: Please ensure you arrange your own insurance with protection for the full duration of your journey to cover personal injury, damage, and loss of personal items including, but not limited to, camera equipment and other electronic items, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, and loss of luggage. Please keep in mind that the time it takes to travel 100 km in your home country is not equivalent to the time it takes to travel 100 km on African roads, so we encourage you to sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery Africa has to offer. Where possible, additional stops will be made to ensure your travelling comfort at all times.
