This mobile camping safari showcases Botswana's premier northern wilderness areas, beginning at the elephant-rich Chobe Riverfront and continuing south through dramatic Savuti, predator-rich Khwai, and the diverse Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. It is ideal for immersive wildlife viewing, with a mix of boat cruises, game drives, mokoro excursions, and night drives in the concessions. Along the way, you will experience riverfront wildlife, remote bush camps, and some of the country's most rewarding safari landscapes.

Day 01

11-Day Northern Botswana Safari Adventure

Day 1 - Arrival in Kasane - Transfer to Chobe Riverfront

Arrive at Kasane Airport and transfer by road to your private bush camp along the Chobe River.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Chobe River, a prime area for massive elephant herds bathing and crossing, as well as hippos, crocodiles, and buffalo.

End the day with sundowners on the river, followed by a campfire dinner and an overnight stay at the Chobe Riverfront camp.

Day 2-3 - Chobe Riverfront Exploration

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives along the floodplain, along with additional boat cruises.

Expect epic elephant sightings, as thousands gather here, along with lions, puku antelope, and exceptional birdlife such as African fish eagles.

There will also be relaxed camp time with river views.

Day 4 - Transfer to Savuti (Chobe National Park)

Set out on a morning game drive en route south on a scenic drive of about 4-5 hours.

Arrive in the afternoon at your private Savuti camp and explore the marsh area, famous for lion prides and elephant bulls.

In the evening, enjoy a game drive around ancient baobabs and waterholes.

Relax at camp and enjoy storytelling.

Day 5-6 - Full Days in Savuti

Take dawn and dusk game drives in search of predators. Savuti's lions are renowned for hunting elephants, and the area is also home to hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, and wild dogs.

Visit the San rock paintings and the sometimes-flowing Savuti Channel.

Spend star-filled nights listening to hyena calls.

Day 7 - Transfer to Khwai Concession

Travel south on a full-day game-viewing drive of about 5-6 hours through the Mababe Depression.

Arrive at your private campsite and head out for an afternoon game drive or a night drive, which is allowed in the concession.

Dinner will be served at the campsite.

Relax at camp with storytelling, and enjoy another star-filled night with hyena calls.

Day 8 - Khwai Exploration

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with optional nature walks or mokoro excursions. This area is excellent for spotting leopards in trees, wild dogs, and elephants along the river.

Later, head out on a night drive for nocturnal species such as aardvark or serval.

Spend another star-filled night with hyena calls.

Day 9-10 - Moremi Game Reserve

Spend full days on game drives and mokoro trips through diverse habitats that support lions, red lechwe, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, and incredible birdlife.

There is also the option of a boat cruise or mokoro excursion into the Delta channels.

Enjoy a final bush dinner under the stars.

Day 11 - Departure to Maun

Take part in a morning activity, with an early game drive or mokoro excursion.

Afterward, transfer by road for about 4-5 hours back to Maun Airport for departure.

End of tour.

Additional accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost.

You will be dropped off at the airport.

Know before you go

  • Campsite setup: You will sleep in comfortable, walk-in canvas tents. Most setups feature camp beds with real linens, a small bucket shower filled by staff, and a private bush toilet.
  • Unfenced wilderness: Because campsites lack fences, wild animals frequently walk right through camp. You must keep your tent zipped at all times and stay inside after dark.
  • Digital detox: Mobile camps are completely off-grid. Prepare to be disconnected, with no WiFi or cell service.
  • Early starts: Days begin early with pre-sunrise wake-up calls, around 5:30 AM, to catch predators at their most active.
  • Game drives: You will spend hours travelling along uneven tracks in open 4x4 safari vehicles.
  • Camp life: You return to camp for hot meals prepared by the support crew, swapping stories around the campfire.
