Day 1: Addis Ababa to Harar — Arrival and Transfer
- Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will take a flight or drive to Dire Dawa before continuing to the historic city of Harar, one of Africa's oldest Islamic cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Enjoy a relaxing evening inside the ancient walled city of Jugol.

Day 2: Full Day Harar City Tour
- Discover the cultural and historical treasures of Harar, including the ancient Jugol walled city, traditional Harari houses, colourful local markets and cultural interactions with local communities.

Day 3: Harar to Awash National Park
- Drive to Awash National Park while enjoying scenic Ethiopian landscapes.
- In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive to spot wildlife including Beisa oryx, gazelles, baboons and various bird species.

Day 4: Awash to Semera
- Enjoy a morning drive through Rift Valley scenery toward Semera, the gateway to the Danakil Depression.
- Arrive and rest before beginning the desert expedition.

Day 5: Danakil Depression Tour — Dallol and Salt Lakes
- Depart early from the camp or lodge and drive deeper into the spectacular Danakil Depression, one of the hottest and most unique places on Earth.
- Visit Dallol, famous for its colourful geothermal landscapes, sulphur springs, salt formations and bubbling acid pools created by volcanic activity, offering vivid yellow, green, orange and white mineral deposits.
- Continue to the vast salt flats of Lake Assale, where local Afar workers traditionally extract salt by hand, and witness long camel caravans transporting salt blocks across the desert, a centuries-old trading tradition still active today.
- Enjoy a picnic lunch in the desert surroundings before exploring more of the salt lake and dramatic desert scenery.
- Return to the base camp or basic lodge in the late afternoon for rest and overnight stay.

Day 6: Erta Ale Volcano Night Trek
- After breakfast, depart from the Danakil area and drive across the dramatic Afar desert toward Erta Ale, one of the world's most active volcanoes and home to a rare permanent lava lake.
- Pass through volcanic landscapes, black lava fields and traditional Afar settlements along the journey, and stop for lunch before continuing to the trekking starting point near Erta Ale.
- In the late afternoon or early evening, begin the trek to the summit of Erta Ale Volcano, which takes approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on pace and weather conditions.
- Upon arrival at the crater rim, witness the spectacular glowing lava lake and dramatic volcanic activity under the night sky.
- Spend time exploring the summit area and enjoying panoramic desert views before overnight camping near the crater.

Day 7: Return to Semera
- Early in the morning, enjoy a final view of the glowing crater and sunrise over Erta Ale before beginning the descent from the volcano.
- After reaching the base, have breakfast and start the drive back across the dramatic desert landscapes of the Afar region toward Semera.
- Pass lava fields, rocky plains and traditional Afar villages along the way, and stop for lunch en route.
- Upon arrival in Semera, check in to the hotel and enjoy time to rest and recover after the desert and volcano expedition.

- Pass through traditional villages, dramatic escarpments and rural countryside, with stops for lunch and short breaks at selected towns and viewpoints along the way.
- As you approach Lalibela, enjoy the stunning mountain landscapes surrounding this historic pilgrimage town famous for its rock-hewn churches and rich cultural heritage.
