Day 01

Puerto Montt and Alerce Andino National Park

Start the tour between 8:30 and 9:00 am from the city of Puerto Montt, a small port and industrial city founded by German settlers more than 150 years ago. For tourists, this city is the gateway to Patagonia, as many tours to the region begin here.
Visit the main square, cathedral, and observation deck in Puerto Montt, overlooking the entire Reloncaví Sound and the city.
Visit the Angelmó Market, which is famous for fresh seafood and souvenirs.
Continue to Alerce Andino National Park, an evergreen millennial rainforest.
Walk for about 5 miles (8 kilometres). Alerce, or Fitzroya, is one of the unique species of evergreen trees found in this park and grows only in northern Patagonia. Some specimens are estimated to be around 4,000 years old. Fitzroya is considered one of the largest trees in South America.
Have lunch before returning to the hotel at around 4:30-5:30 pm.
