The itinerary

Day 01

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

  • Karibu - welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
  • Meet your experienced guide early in the morning in Entebbe or Kampala and begin your scenic journey to Kibale Forest National Park.
  • Travel through Uganda's beautiful countryside towards Kibale, widely known as the primate capital of the world and home to around 13 species of primates.
  • Arrive at your lodge and relax after the long drive.
  • Optionally enjoy a guided community walk through the Bigodi Swamp area to experience the local environment and culture.

Day 02

Chimpanzee Trekking and Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Begin the day with chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park, home to the highest concentration of primates in Africa.
  • Explore the forest with experienced park rangers in search of a habituated chimpanzee troop.

  • Observe over 1,500 chimpanzees and other primate species, including red colobus monkeys, within their natural habitat.

  • Spend up to one unforgettable hour watching the chimpanzees feed, play, and interact in the forest.

  • Continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park after the trekking experience.

  • Head to the Kazinga Channel for an afternoon boat safari along the natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George.

  • Look out for hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and numerous bird species during the boat safari.

  • Enjoy a late afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi

  • Begin the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
  • Search for elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, hyenas, and various antelope species roaming the plains during the cool morning hours.
  • Enjoy incredible wildlife viewing opportunities across the savannah landscapes of the park.
  • Continue your journey south towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after the game drive.
  • Admire the changing scenery from open savannah plains to lush terraced hills and dense rainforest.
  • Arrive in Bwindi, home to Uganda's endangered mountain gorillas and one of Africa's most remarkable natural landscapes.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi

  • Experience the highlight of your journey with mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas.
  • Attend a short ranger briefing before entering the forest with your guide to track a habituated gorilla family.
  • Spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas up close as they play, move through the trees, and interact in their natural environment.
  • Enjoy the rare opportunity of standing eye to eye with an impressive silverback gorilla in the wild.
  • Continue to Lake Bunyonyi after the trekking experience.

Lake Bunyonyi and Return to Entebbe or Kampala

  • Begin your morning at Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda's most beautiful and peaceful destinations.
  • Admire the scenic views of terraced hills and the lake's 29 small islands surrounded by tranquil waters.
  • Relax beside Africa's second deepest lake, which is free of crocodiles and hippos.
  • Guests with late-night flights may choose an optional canoe trek to explore the lake more closely or visit the Batwa Tribe for a cultural experience.
  • Begin the scenic drive back to Entebbe after the lake experience.
  • Arrive in Entebbe or Kampala in the late afternoon or early evening for your onward journey.
