Day 1: Lemosho Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m)
Distance: 6–7 km.
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours.
Habitat: Rainforest.
- Start your trek through lush rainforest on the quiet western side of the mountain. This section is rich in wildlife and offers a gentle introduction to the climb. Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa (2,650m) to Shira Camp 2 (3,850m) via Shira Camp 1
Distance: 16–18 km.
Hiking Time: 7–9 hours.
Habitat: Moorland.
- A long but rewarding day. You leave the rainforest behind and ascend into the moorland zone, passing Shira Camp 1 before continuing across the expansive Shira Plateau to Shira Camp 2. Expect spectacular panoramic views and a noticeable gain in altitude. This is one of the longest trekking days, so a slow and steady pace is essential.

Day 3: Shira Camp 2 (3,850m) to Lava Tower (4,630m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m)
Distance: 10 km.
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours.
Habitat: Semi-desert.
- A critical acclimatisation day following the “climb high, sleep low” principle. Ascend to Lava Tower, then descend into the beautiful Barranco Valley for overnight.

Day 4: Barranco Camp (3,960m) to Karanga Camp (4,035m)
Distance: 5 km.
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours.
Habitat: Alpine desert.
- Climb the famous Barranco Wall, which is non-technical but exciting, then continue through valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp.

Day 5: Karanga Camp (4,035m) to Barafu Camp (4,640m)
Distance: 4 km.
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours.
Habitat: Alpine desert.
- Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt. Rest and prepare for the midnight climb.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,100m)
Distance: 17 km.
Hiking Time: 10–14 hours.
Habitat: Arctic to Rainforest.
- Begin your midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.

Day 7: Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m)
Distance: 10 km.
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours.
Habitat: Rainforest.
