Experience an exhilarating 2-day Mount Olympus adventure that combines high-altitude trekking, dramatic alpine scenery, and rich Greek mythology. Begin with a steady ascent through dense pine, beech, and fir forests, reaching panoramic ridgelines and the spectacular Plateau of the Muses. Hike to Profitis Ilias for a breathtaking sunset before resting in a mountain refuge surrounded by towering peaks. Continue with an early summit attempt to Mytikas, the highest peak in Greece, or Skala, depending on conditions, and stand above the legendary Throne of Zeus. Descend عبر the striking Zonaria traverse beneath Stefani, reconnect with scenic mountain trails, and complete the journey with a rewarding return to Litochoro.
Itinerary

Day 1: Litochoro – Gortsia – Plateau of the Muses
- We meet our guide in Litochoro and transfer by minibus to Gortsia (1,120 m), the starting point of our hike.
- Our route ascends through dense forests of pine, beech, and fir, leading to Petrostrougka Refuge (1,940 m), where we take a short break. We then continue towards the alpine zone, reaching Skourta Peak (2,485 m), where the landscape opens up with panoramic views.
- From here, we follow the narrow ridge known as “Laimos” to the Plateau of the Muses and the Christos Kakkalos Refuge / Giosos Apostolidis Refuge, where we spend the night.
- In the afternoon, we hike to Profitis Ilias (2,803 m) to enjoy a spectacular sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the refuge.
- Hiking time: 5–6 hours

Day 2: Summit Attempt – Mytikas / Skala – Prionia
- Early breakfast with views of the impressive Stefani (“Throne of Zeus”).
- Depending on weather conditions and participants’ fitness, we will ascend to the summit of Mytikas (2,918 m), the highest peak in Greece, or to Skala (2,882 m).
- After reaching the summit, we will descend via the impressive Zonaria traverse beneath Stefani, reconnecting with the main trail leading to Spilios Agapitos Refuge (2,100 m) for rest and refreshments.
- We will then continue our descent to Prionia (1,100 m), where our transfer will take us back to Litochoro.
- Hiking time: 7–8 hours
