Fly to Jinka and Visit the Hamar Tribe

Fly from Addis Ababa to Jinka and meet your driver-guide upon arrival.
Begin the journey to Turmi through the scenic landscapes of the Omo Valley.
Visit Dimeka Market on market days and observe vibrant local trading activities.
Explore a Hamar village and learn about their elaborate hairstyles, body adornment, and cattle culture.
Witness the bull jumping ceremony, if available, a significant rite of passage into adulthood.

Overnight stay in Turmi.

Day 02

Visit the Dassanech Tribe in Omorate

Drive to Omorate after breakfast, located near the Omo River.
Cross the river by local boat to reach the Dassanech village.
Learn about their lifestyle in a harsh, arid environment and their adaptation to seasonal flooding.
Observe their fishing practices and traditional way of living.
Return to Turmi in the afternoon.
