The itinerary

1

Day 01

Arrival in Moshi or Arusha

• You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your arranged hotel in Moshi or Arusha town.
• Meet your guide, who will brief you about your Africa safari tour.
• Spend the remaining time at your own leisure and relaxation.

Day 02

Arusha to Tarangire National Park Safari

• After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel for an approximate two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park.
• Travel through landscapes featuring giant baobab trees, bush savannah, and seasonal marshes.
• Explore one of the best places to view elephants up close, along with buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeest.
• Observe predators such as lions and, occasionally, leopards, while cheetahs are rarely spotted.
• Enjoy wildlife viewing from the open roof of the safari vehicle.
• Arrive at your lodge inside the park in the evening.

Day 03

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

• After breakfast, travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti.
• Reach the plains of Serengeti National Park by midday.
• Explore diverse habitats, including short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps, and lakes.
• Observe kopjes, where predators are often seen.
• Learn about the yearly migration of wildebeest and zebras searching for fresh grass and water.

Day 04

Full-Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

• Spend the entire day on game drives in Serengeti National Park.
• Visit areas depending on the movement of the migrating herds.
• Observe predators such as lions, leopards in acacia trees, and cheetahs.
• Learn about seasonal migration patterns, with herds moving south during November and December and returning north between April and June, depending on rainfall.

Day 05

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

• Enjoy additional game viewing while travelling towards the park gate.
• Leave Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon and continue to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
• Observe the Maasai tribe and their traditional lifestyle along the way.
• Arrive and stay overnight at a lodge located on the ridge of the Ngorongoro crater rim.

Day 06

Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Return to Arusha

• After breakfast, descend 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive.
• Explore the habitat of over 25,000 mammals, including the Big Five, spotted hyenas, and rare warthogs.
• Observe more than 500 bird species within the crater.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch at the hippo pool.
• Leave the caldera in the late afternoon and drive back to Arusha town.
