Itinerary

1. Day 01: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Afternoon Game Drive

   • Have breakfast and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through Luwero Triangle and Budongo Forest in the western arm of the Rift Valley while enjoying splendid countryside views.
   • Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch, and proceed for an afternoon sunset game drive with opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes, and possibly lions and leopards.
   • Visit Delta Point where the Nile flows north out of Lake Albert and enjoy views of water birds and distant hippos.
   • After the game drive, check in to Fort Murchison Lodge, Red Chilli Hideaway Camp, or Hornbill Bush Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
   • Optional activity: White Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Sanctuary at an additional cost.
   • Meals included: Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water.

2. Day 02: Morning Game Drive, Boat Safari and Evening Game Drive

   • Enjoy an early safari breakfast before sunrise and head out for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active during the golden hours.
   • Spot elephants, buffaloes, several species of antelope, and if lucky, lions or leopards in the savannah.
   • Return to the lodge for lunch and later proceed for a three hour boat safari upstream on the Victoria Nile towards the falls.
   • Pass through breathtaking scenery while spotting crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, water birds, and other animals along the riverbanks.
   • Disembark near the waterfall and hike for approximately one to one and a half hours to the top of the falls.
   • Enjoy a short sunset game drive before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

3. Day 03: Top of the Falls Walk and Transfer to Kibale National Park

   • Enjoy your last sunrise and breakfast in the park before taking a walk to the top of Murchison Falls for approximately 30 minutes to one hour.
   • Marvel at the powerful Nile as it forces through a narrow gorge and drops dramatically, creating a roaring waterfall, mist, and rainbows.
   • Begin your journey to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal, passing through scenic landscapes, mountains, and tea plantations with several photo stops.
   • Arrive in Fort Portal and have lunch before continuing your afternoon activities.
   • Choose between a guided Crater Lakes and plantation walk, exploring scenic lakes, villages, and tea estates, or a guided nature walk at Amabere Caves to observe unique rock formations, crater lakes, and birdlife.
   • After the activity, check in to Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve and Community Campsite, Kibale Forest Camp, or Kibale Forest Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water.

4. Day 04: Bigodi Wetland Walk and Semuliki National Park Experience

   • After breakfast, explore Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary on a guided swamp walk, home to eight primate species, over 200 bird species, butterflies, reptiles, and diverse vegetation including papyrus, fig trees, and wild palms.
   • Alternatively, opt for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park at an additional cost.
   • Return to the lodge for lunch before heading to Semuliki National Park for a guided nature walk.
   • Observe wildlife including baboons, red-tailed colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bird species, butterflies, and visit the Sempaya Hot Springs.
   • After the experience, return to Lake Nkuruba Nature Reserve and Community Campsite, Kibale Forest Camp, or Kibale Forest Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water.

5. Day 05: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Game Drive

   • After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, travelling along the Rwenzori Mountain range and enjoying scenic landscapes with stopovers for an Equator experience and photography.
   • Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch, and proceed for an afternoon sunset game drive across the savannah.
   • Spot wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, lions, bush pigs, and various antelope species in their natural habitat.
   • After the game drive, check in to The Bush Lodge, Pumba Safari Lodge, or Tembo Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water. 

6. Day 06: Chimpanzee Trekking, Boat Safari and Game Drive

   • Wake up early, have breakfast, and proceed to Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park or Kalinzu Forest Reserve for chimpanzee tracking with an experienced guide.
   • Walk through the forest to observe chimpanzees at close range as they interact, groom, play, and forage in their natural habitat.
   • Learn about primates, forest flora, and fauna from your guide during this informative experience, noting that sightings are likely but not guaranteed.
   • Return to the lodge for lunch before heading to Kazinga Channel for a boat safari.
   • Spot large numbers of hippos, along with elephants, buffaloes, and various wildlife gathering along the shoreline.
   • After the boat safari, enjoy a sunset game drive before returning to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water.

7. Day 07: Ishasha Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi

   • Wake up early, have breakfast, and proceed for a morning sunrise game drive in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
   • Look out for the famous tree climbing lions resting in sycamore fig trees instead of scanning only the savannah plains.
   • After the game drive, transfer to the Kigezi Highlands, known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, with its terraced hillsides and winding roads.
   • Enjoy spectacular views of the mountainous countryside with several opportunities for photography.
   • Arrive in the late afternoon and check in to Gorilla Bluff Lodge, Ride 4 a Woman, or Buhoma Community Rest Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water. 

8. Day 08: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience

   • After breakfast, walk to the park headquarters for a briefing by UWA guides before transferring to the starting point for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
   • Trek through dense rainforest, navigating mossy rocks and thick undergrowth in search of Mountain Gorillas.
   • Observe Gorillas in their natural habitat and learn about their history and behaviour from experienced ranger guides, with the permit included in the tour.
   • After the trekking experience, visit the Batwa Community and learn about their traditions including traditional dances, beer making, and fire setting.
   • Check in to Travellers Rest Hotel in Kisoro or Golden Monkeys Guest House for dinner and overnight stay.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water.

9. Day 09: Golden Monkey Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi Experience

   • After breakfast, proceed for Golden Monkey trekking with a pre-tracking briefing at the park headquarters.
   • Hike through the forest to locate Golden Monkeys, a less strenuous trek as they inhabit lower areas, usually lasting up to three hours.
   • Spend one hour observing and photographing the Golden Monkey family while learning about their behaviour.
   • After lunch, enjoy a canoe ride on the scenic Lake Bunyonyi, exploring its islands including the floating island and the historical punishment island.
   • Check in to Itambira Island, Seeds of Hope, or Bunyonyi Overland Resort for dinner and overnight stay.

   Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottled drinking water.

10. Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Game Drive

    • After an early breakfast, depart from Lake Bunyonyi and drive to Lake Mburo National Park via Kabale Town.
    • Enter the park and observe herds of zebras, buffaloes, elands, and antelopes grazing across the savannah.
    • Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch, and proceed for an afternoon game drive.
    • Spot wildlife including zebras, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, and waterbucks.
    • Observe bird species such as malachite kingfishers, African fish eagles, blue headed weavers, rufous long tailed starlings, herons, pelicans, shoebills, and cormorants.
    • After the game drive, check in to Hyena Hill Lodge or Eagles Nest Lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

11. Day 11: Walking Safari, Equator Experience and Departure

    • Enjoy your last sunrise in Uganda with a guided walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park.
    • Spot wildlife at close range including zebras, giraffes, elands, topi, antelopes, and Cape buffaloes.
    • Take a trail to higher viewpoints and enjoy panoramic views of Lake Mburo and the surrounding landscapes, including several of the twelve lakes in the area.
    • After the walking safari, transfer to Kampala or Entebbe with scenic views along the way.
    • Stop at the Equator for a unique experience and memorable photo opportunities.
    • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport at least three hours before your departure.
