14-Day The Pearl of Africa Wildlife & Primate Safari
Day 1: Entebbe Airport Entebbe Town: Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your guide will be there to warmly welcome you. You will be assisted with your luggage and transferred to The Boma Hotel Entebbe for check-in. Settle into your comfortable accommodation and take some time to relax and refresh after your journey, preparing for the exciting adventures ahead on your Uganda safari.

Day 2: Entebbe –Lake Mburo National Park: After breakfast, we depart for Lake Mburo National Park, a unique gem in Uganda’s safari circuit. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive or an optional boat cruise on the lake, offering excellent wildlife and bird-watching opportunities. In the evening, embark on a night game drive, with good chances of spotting elusive leopards. Lake Mburo is one of only two parks in Uganda with zebras and the only park home to impalas. With no elephants or lions, it also offers the rare opportunity for walking safaris. Dinner and Overnight stay at Kigarama Wilderness Lodge.

Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park-Bwindi Impenetrable: Start your morning with an optional game walk or game drive in Lake Mburo National Park, taking in the park’s scenic landscapes, abundant wildlife, and unique birdlife. Afterward, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, traveling through picturesque villages and enjoying breathtaking views of the rolling hills and mountains along the way. Bwindi is a pristine rainforest, teeming with numerous monkey species, birds, and rare flora. It is also one of only two places in the world where mountain gorillas can be observed in their natural habitat, offering an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Day 4: Full-Day Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park: Gorilla tracking begins early in the morning with your expert ranger as you venture into the dense rainforest in search of one of the world’s most fascinating and endangered animals, the mountain gorilla. Once located, you will spend an incredible hour observing these gentle giants up close, gaining insight into their behavior and social dynamics. This rare and intimate encounter with one of our closest relatives is truly an once-in-a-lifetime experience you will never forget.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable – Scenic Lake Bunyonyi While in Bwindi, you have the option to enjoy several optional activities, including a second gorilla trekking experience, a guided forest walk to explore the lush jungle and its wildlife, bird watching for the many colorful species that inhabit the forest, or an immersive cultural visit with the Batwa people, one of Uganda’s most remarkable indigenous communities. After these experiences, you will travel to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest and most stunning lakes in Uganda, located at an altitude of 2,000 meters. Formed by multiple volcanic eruptions, the lake is surrounded by rolling terraced hills and dotted with scenic islands. Its calm, high-altitude waters are safe for swimming, as there are no crocodiles or hippos. Guests can enjoy relaxing by the lake, taking a boat trip to explore its islands, observing its rich birdlife, or simply soaking in the breathtaking scenery. Day 6: Lake Bunyonyi – Queen Elizabeth National Park: After a relaxed breakfast at Lake Bunyonyi, we depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most famous and wildlife-rich parks. Upon arrival, time permitting, enjoy an afternoon game drive, exploring the park’s diverse landscapes, including savannahs, wetlands, and forests. Queen Elizabeth is renowned for its high density of lions, making it one of the best places in Uganda to see these majestic predators. Alongside lions, you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and even elusive leopards. The park also offers excellent opportunities for bird watching, with numerous species inhabiting its forests and wetlands. As the day winds down, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kasenyi Safari Camp, a comfortable base that allows you to rest and prepare for another exciting day of wildlife exploration in the heart of Uganda’s wilderness.

Day 7: Game Drive & Boat Safari – Queen Elizabeth National Park: Begin the day with a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring the park’s diverse landscapes, from open savannahs to forested areas, and spotting wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species. In the afternoon, embark on a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, a wildlife-rich waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel is famous for having one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa, and you are likely to see crocodiles and large herds of animals gathering along the shores. For those seeking a more adventurous experience, an optional lion tracking activity is also available, providing an immersive encounter with Uganda’s iconic predators. This combination of game drives, boat safari, and optional activities makes the day a perfect way to experience the park’s extraordinary wildlife and stunning scenery. Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park-Kibale Forest NP: After an early breakfast, depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park and travel towards Kibale Forest National Park, a lush rainforest renowned for its incredible primate diversity. Along the way, stop at a scenic crater lake in the Kasenda–Ndali area, where you can enjoy the serene landscape and take photographs of the surrounding hills and local villages. Continue your journey to your lodge and settle in. Kibale Forest is often called the Primates Capital of the World, as it is home to 13 different primate species, including chimpanzees, baboons, black-and-white colobus, red colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, and L’Hoest monkeys. This unique rainforest environment offers excellent opportunities for wildlife observation and bird watching, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and primate lovers alike. Day 9: Full-Day Chimpanzee Trek – Kibale Forest National Park:
After breakfast, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park takes place in the morning, depending on the assigned tracking group. For those seeking a more immersive experience, it is opptional to upgrade to the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, which allows for a longer, four-hour tracking session with the chimpanzees, observing their natural behaviors in greater depth. In addition to chimpanzee trekking, you will explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, taking a guided walk through the swamp to spot numerous birds, primates, and other wildlife. The timing of the Bigodi Swamp Walk will depend on when your chimpanzee tracking occurs, either before or after the trek. For adventurous guests, there is also the option of a night forest walk, providing a unique opportunity to observe nocturnal animals such as bush babies and other creatures that come alive after dark. This combination of activities offers a full and rewarding day immersed in the rich biodiversity of Kibale Forest.

Day 10: Kibale Forest NP – Murchison Falls National Park:
After breakfast, we depart for Murchison Falls National Park, traveling through the stunning Albertan Escarpment of the western arm of the East African Rift Valley. Along the way, enjoy dramatic landscapes, scenic views of the Mountains of the Moon, and glimpses of traditional homesteads, providing a rich cultural and natural experience. Upon arrival in Murchison Falls in the afternoon, visit the top of the falls, where the entire Nile River is forced through a narrow gorge and plunges 60 meters, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Murchison Falls is one of Uganda’s most beautiful parks, home to elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and possibly leopards. After exploring the falls, proceed to Pakuba Safari Lodge on a game drive, enjoying additional wildlife sightings along the way. Settle into your comfortable lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Full Day Guided Game Drive in Murchison Falls NP:
Begin your day with an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, when wildlife is most active and the chances of spotting lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and leopards are highest. Enjoy the park’s stunning landscapes, from open savannahs to riverine forests, as your guide points out unique flora and fauna. In the afternoon, embark on a boat ride along the Victoria Nile, traveling toward the base of the spectacular Murchison Falls. The boat provides an excellent vantage point to observe and photograph a variety of wildlife, including elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds, as animals come to drink or cool off along the riverbanks. The cruise offers breathtaking views of the falls from below, capturing the full force of the Nile as it plunges through the narrow gorge. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Murchison Falls National Park-Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary-Jinja:
After breakfast, depart for the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s only location where visitors can see white rhinos in a semi-wild setting. Upon arrival, embark on a guided walking safari within the sanctuary, observing these magnificent and endangered animals up close while learning about ongoing conservation efforts to protect and expand their populations. The sanctuary is home to not only rhinos but also other wildlife, birds, and lush vegetation, making it an enriching and educational experience. After exploring Ziwa, continue your journey to Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda, situated along the banks of the mighty Nile River. Upon arrival in Jinja, check into your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner while soaking in the scenic views of the surrounding landscape, reflecting on the memorable wildlife encounters of the day. Overnight stay is at 2 Friends Guest House in Jinja.

Day 13: Full Day in Jinja (Source of the Nile)
After a relaxed breakfast, transfer to Jinja to visit the legendary Source of the Nile. Enjoy a scenic boat trip to the exact point where the Nile begins its long journey north, while learning about its historical and geographical significance and taking in the tranquil river views. Jinja is widely known as Uganda’s adventure capital, and the afternoon offers the possibility to take part in optional activities such as white-water rafting, kayaking, quad biking, or horse riding. Guests who prefer a slower pace may relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the town and the Nile River. Please let us know in advance if you would like to go white-water rafting, as this activity must be booked ahead of time, especially during the high season.

Day 14: Jinja – Entebbe Airport:

The journey offers final views of Uganda’s scenic landscapes as you travel back for your onward departure flight, marking the end of your memorable safari experience in the Pearl of Africa.
