1. 4-Day Ultimate Mahale Chimpanzee & Lake Safari

   Day 1: Dar es Salaam – Kigoma - Mahale Mountains National Park (Road & Boat)
    Depart Dar es Salaam at 0545 hrs., arriving in Kigoma at 0800 hrs. where you are met and assisted, then proceed on a road transfer to Lagossa / Mgambo Village along the shores of Lake Tanganyika, enjoying views of local communities, rolling hills, and lakeside scenery. From there, continue by scenic boat transfer across Lake Tanganyika to Mahale Mountains National Park, with breathtaking views of the Mahale range rising from the water, remote fishing villages, traditional wooden boats, rich birdlife, and occasional hippos along the shoreline. On arrival at Mbali Mbali Mahale Lodge, check in to your exclusive lakeside lodge and enjoy lunch, followed by a relaxed afternoon at leisure to unwind on the pristine beach, swim in the crystal-clear waters, or take an optional guided walk along the forest edge.    Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Adventure:
    After an early breakfast, set out on a guided chimpanzee trekking experience deep within the pristine forests of Mahale Mountains National Park. Accompanied by expert trackers and armed rangers, follow winding trails beneath towering mahogany and fig trees in search of habituated chimpanzee families. Along the way, encounter rich forest biodiversity, including red colobus and blue monkeys, forest squirrels, and a variety of colorful butterflies. The trek also offers exceptional birdlife, with species such as Ross’s turaco, trumpeter hornbills, and forest kingfishers. Upon locating the chimpanzees, enjoy an unforgettable hour observing their complex social behavior—feeding, grooming, playing, and communicating—against a dramatic backdrop of dense forest and mountain slopes. Return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika.    Day 3: Second Trek or Cultural & Nature Activities:

Alternatively, opt for a guided forest hike to discover the park’s remarkable biodiversity, including towering mahogany and fig trees, medicinal plants, colorful butterflies, and a rich variety of birdlife. The trails also reveal signs of other forest inhabitants such as red colobus monkeys, bushbuck, and forest duikers, while offering scenic viewpoints over the dramatic mountain slopes. In the afternoon, return to the lodge for leisure time along the crystal-clear shores of Lake Tanganyika. Relax on the beach, swim in the calm waters, or simply take in the vast lake and surrounding landscapes.    Day 4: Mahale Mountains National Park- Kigoma (Boat & Road) – Dar es Salaam:
    After breakfast, depart Mbali Mbali Mahale Lodge by boat, cruising along the pristine shoreline of Lake Tanganyika toward Lagossa / Mgambo Village. This scenic journey offers beautiful views of the lake’s crystal-clear waters, forested slopes, and remote fishing communities along the shore. On arrival, continue by road to Kigoma Town, passing through peaceful countryside dotted with traditional villages, rolling hills, palm groves, and local farms that reflect everyday life in western Tanzania. Enjoy changing landscapes from lakeside vistas to rural plains as you approach Kigoma. Arrive in the afternoon in time for your scheduled flight from Kigoma at 1740 Hrs. to Dar es Salaam arrive at 2000 Hrs.
