The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival and Hike to Shiloko Camp

• Begin your day with breakfast and a boda boda ride (7 km) to Mount Elgon National Park - Bushiyi Trail Gate (1,800m ASL).
• Meet your guide, porter, and cook, and register at the park.
• Start your hike to Shiloko Camp through rich forested paths.
• Rest and enjoy your first night of camping under the stars.

Day 02

Trek Through Lush Forest to Dubi Camp

• After an early breakfast, hike through the steep, lush forest to Dubi Camp.
• Arrive in time for lunch and relax at the campsite.
• Enjoy a campfire evening, sharing stories and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Day 03

Summit Wagagai Peak and Return to Shiloko Camp

• Enjoy a hearty breakfast before ascending through the heather zone.
• Reach Wagagai Peak, the highest point of Mount Elgon.
• Take in sweeping views of Masaba, Koitobos, and Sudek Peaks.
• After celebrations and photos, descend to Shiloko Camp for the night.

Day 04

Descent to Bushiyi Trail Gate and Departure

• Have breakfast and begin your descent to Bushiyi Trail Gate.
• Sign out and receive your summit certificates.
• Continue to your next destination or arrange transport back to town.
