Itinerary

1. Day 1: Bucharest – Sibiu

   • Meet the tour guide at the hotel in Bucharest.

   • Start panoramic tour of Bucharest: Parliament Palace, Revolution Square, Athenaeum, Royal Palace, Triumph Arch, Victoriei Avenue.

   • Drive towards Transylvania, crossing the Carpathian Mountains viathe  Olt River Valley.

   • Stop at Cozia Monastery, dating from the 14th century.

   • Continue to Sibiu and enjoya walking tour of the Old District.

   • Visit Big Square, Small Square, Staircase Tower, Liar’s Bridge, Evangelic Cathedral, Catholic Cathedral, Orthodox Cathedral, medieval walls, and fortifications.

   • Drive to a village outside Sibiu.

   • Enjoy a horse-driven wagon tour and a home-made traditional dinner.

   Stay overnight in a local guest house.

2. Day 2: Sibiu – Hunedoara – Alba Iulia – Cluj Napoca

   • Have breakfast.

   • Drive to Hunedoara.

   • Visit Corvin’s (Hunyad) Castle, dating from the 15th century.

   • Continue to Alba Iulia.

   • Visit Orthodox Cathedral, Catholic Cathedral, Vauban-style fortifications, and Roman ruins.

   • Drive to Cluj-Napoca.

   • Enjoy a short walking tour: St Michael’s Cathedral, Union Square, Museum Square, Orthodox Cathedral, National Theatre, Matei Corvin’s Statue.

   Stay overnight in a 4-star hotel.

3. Day 3: Cluj Napoca – Maramures

   • Have breakfast.

   • Drive to Maramures.

   • Visit Surdesti Wooden Church (UNESCO).

   • Visit the Desesti Wooden Church (UNESCO).

   • Explore countryside landscapes and traditional villages.

   • Visit local craftsmen: traditional weaver, wood carver, water mill, traditional household.

   • Optionally visit Sapanta Merry Cemetery.

   • Visit Barsana Monastery.

   • Visit a local household in Botiza village.

   • Visit a local sheepyard depending on the season.

   Enjoy dinner.

   Stay overnight in a local pension.

4. Day 4: Maramures – Bucovina

   • Have breakfast.

   • Visit the Maramures Women's Museum in Dragomiresti.

   • Cross the Carpathian Mountains towards Bucovina.

   • Visit Moldovita Monastery (UNESCO).

   • Visit Sucevita Monastery.

   • Visit the painted eggs museum and workshop.

   • Visit the Marginea pottery center.

   Stay overnight in a 4-star pension such as Casa Humor or Bucovina Lodge.

5. Day 5: Bucovina – Bicaz Gorges – Sighisoara

   • Have breakfast.

   • Visit Voronet Monastery (UNESCO).

   • Drive across the Carpathian Mountains towards Transylvania.

   • Pass through Bicaz Gorges and Red Lake.

   • Arrive in Sighisoara.

6. Day 6: Sighisoara – Viscri – Prejmer – Brasov

   • Have breakfast.

   • Drive to Viscri village.

   • Walk through village streets and explore local products.

7. Day 7: Brasov – Bran – Sinaia – Bucharest

   • Have breakfast.

   • Visit Bran Castle.

   • Drive to Sinaia.

   • Visit Peles Castle.

   • Drive to Bucharest.

   • Drop off at the airport or hotel in Bucharest.
