Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Ruaha National Park and Afternoon Game Drive

   • Morning or Afternoon Arrival - Arrive at Ruaha National Park by flight from Dar es Salaam, Arusha, or Dodoma, or by road transfer.
   • Meet your professional safari guide and transfer to your lodge or tented camp.
   • Enjoy lunch while overlooking the wilderness surroundings.
   • Late Afternoon Game Drive - Embark on your first safari drive across Ruaha’s vast savannah landscapes.
   • Spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and buffaloes roaming freely.
   • Look out for predators such as lions and leopards near waterholes and open plains.
   • Witness a dramatic Ruaha sunset over the savannah, ideal for photography.
   • Evening - Return to your lodge or camp for dinner.
   • Optional night game drive, if available, to observe nocturnal wildlife including civets, hyenas, and genets.

2. Day 2: Sunrise Safari, Ruaha River Exploration and Departure

   • Early Morning - Begin with a sunrise game drive when wildlife activity is at its peak.
   • Observe elephants moving in herds, lions stretching or hunting, and diverse birdlife in the soft morning light.
   • Capture panoramic views of Ruaha’s rolling plains, baobabs, acacias, rocky outcrops, and Miombo woodlands.
   • Midday - Return to the lodge for brunch and relaxation.
   • Optional short walking safari with an armed ranger to explore animal tracks, smaller species, and the flora of the Miombo woodlands.
   • Afternoon - Enjoy a game drive along the Ruaha River, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and water birds along the riverbanks.
   • Visit a scenic viewpoint or waterhole for final wildlife sightings and landscape appreciation.
   • Late Afternoon - Return to the lodge for refreshments and check out.
   • Transfer to the airstrip for your onward flight or begin your road journey to your next destination.
