Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
- Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha town.
- Stay at Mount Arusha Safari Lodge, located near Mount Meru and ideal for pre-trek preparation.
- Attend a pre-climb briefing and equipment check in the evening.
- Confirm your mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance.
- Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge with breakfast included.

Day 2: Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave
- Transfer to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park and begin the climb from Umbwe Gate at 1,800 metres.
- Trek through dense montane forest along a ridge between two deep valleys.
- Observe primates such as black and white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys, as well as forest duikers.
- Reach Umbwe Cave Camp at 3,000 metres after 6 to 8 hours of walking.
- Carry sufficient water from the gate as none is available at the campsite.
- Enjoy full board including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

Day 3: Umbwe Cave to Barranco Valley
- Continue trekking along the steep Umbwe Ridge as the forest gradually opens up.
- Experience striking views of Kilimanjaro’s unique flora and fauna.
- Descend slightly to reach Barranco Camp at 3,950 metres.
- Walk for approximately 4 to 6 hours.
- Enjoy full board including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
- Climb the eastern wall below the Heim Glacier with spectacular mountain views.
- Ascend the Great Barranco Wall towards the southeastern slopes of Kibo.
- Walk through the alpine desert landscape of Karanga Valley.
- Climb steeply to Karanga Camp at 4,000 metres.
- Trek for 4 to 5 hours.
- Enjoy full board including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
- Ascend steeply from Karanga and follow a compacted scree trail with wide open views.
- Arrive at Barafu Camp at 4,600 metres with clear views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.
- Rest in the afternoon and prepare for the final ascent.
- Walk for 3 to 4 hours.
- Enjoy full board including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Camp
- Begin the summit ascent before midnight over volcanic scree.
- Reach Stella Point at 5,735 metres and witness a spectacular sunrise over Mawenzi.
- Continue to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres, the highest point in Africa.
- Enjoy photography and celebrate your achievement at the summit.
- Descend to Barafu Camp for refreshment and continue to Mweka Camp at 3,100 metres.
- Trek for 13 to 15 hours.
- Enjoy full board including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha
- Walk gently through rainforest to Mweka Gate.
- Receive your Kilimanjaro National Park summit certificate.
- Drive back to Arusha Safari Lodge after lunch.
- Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay with breakfast included.

Day 8: Departure
- Transfer from Arusha to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure.
- Conclude your Kilimanjaro trekking adventure.
