Description
The Manaslu Luxury Trek is an exceptional journey that combines refined comfort with raw Himalayan adventure. Less crowded than the Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit treks, this route offers a more peaceful, immersive, and personalized trekking experience through one of Nepal’s most pristine regions.
Your adventure begins in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, where you stay in comfortable three-star hotels and explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From here, a private vehicle takes you north toward Machha Khola, following the dramatic Budi Gandaki River valley through scenic landscapes and remote settlements.
As the trail ascends, you pass through traditional villages such as Ghap, Namrung, Shyala, and Sama Gaun, where Tibetan-influenced culture thrives. Stone houses, ancient monasteries, prayer wheels, and fluttering prayer flags reflect centuries-old Buddhist heritage preserved in daily life.
The trek’s highlight comes after passing Samdo and Dharamsala, when you cross the majestic Larkya La Pass (5,106m). From the summit, you are rewarded with sweeping views of glaciers and towering Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Annapurna II, Cheo Himal, Kangguru Himal, Larkya Peak, and Gyaji Kang.
Descending from the alpine landscapes of Bimthang, the trail leads through Yak Kharka, Goa, Dharapani, and finally Besisahar, where terraced farmlands and lush valleys replace icy terrain. Local communities here live a simple agrarian lifestyle, cultivating crops such as barley, millet, and potatoes.
The Manaslu region is also rich in biodiversity. Its forests are home to Himalayan tahr, blue sheep, musk deer, snow leopards, and soaring Himalayan griffon vultures. Wildlife sightings are rare but more likely during the spring season, when the lower hills burst into vibrant rhododendron blooms.
